im not one of the owners..but test drove the 6AT..i concurred with bro epo..6AT imo is suitable and efficient during hiways and cruising.but not at start-stop traffic and town.i drove in the town and the transmission kept changing and undecided what gear to use..stick to manual in this case.

it was 1.6 sx btw

maybe should use paddle shifters in those cases tongue.gif

i think 6 speed is more beneficial for whom is driving 180km/h non-stop... coz for sure it will stay at 6th gear. no change-change...

Getting a 1.6SX with leather seat forte soon... Undecided over the colours... Spicy red and metal bronze out of my list... Now leaves with 4colours... I love white the most but worry about the maintenance to keep it white all the time... How about the other 3 colours? What is your guys opinion about that?

On another note, heard that Naza had a big argument with KIA last year end on the way Naza not serving KIA's customer up to par. KIA wanted to pull back the distributorship however Naza made a promise to improve in this. This year Naza has set up a special team to take care of KIA's car... This is a great boost to all and to me as well in confidence in after sales support.

Heard from SA that, they hired a bunch of top management guys from toyota and perodua, and fired a few departments (head and most of the guys), in order to reorganize the structure. Anyone have info on this?

QUOTE(izputra @ Feb 22 2011, 07:59 AM)
If 6 speed Forte 1.6 runs 3k rpm @ 110km/h, then it is as good as the 4 speed Forte 1.6 that also runs 3k rpm @ 110km/h. With extra gear ratios under the hood (for 6 speed Forte 1.6), the rpm reading at 110km/h should be lower than that. Else, it serve no purpose for having extra gear other than smoother gear change  whistling.gif But keep in mind that, too many gear changes will contribute to extra power loss due to gear changing unless it comes with a dual clutch transmission or perhaps a CVT  (no gears in reality) that keep the power losses (during gear changing) to absolute minimum  sweat.gif

By the way, Forte 2.0 (4 speed) reads 2.4k @ 110km/h, so for 6 speed, i expect it should lower than this figure in order to gain any fuel saving benefits (as compared to 4 speed Forte 2.0) especially on highway cruising.

Forte 2.0 rpm at 110km/h (4 speed) with Auto Cruise on
[attachmentid=2055453]
The rpm..is it 2.4k or 2.3k?  rolleyes.gif
*
It's usually 2.4K rpm for 110kmh.

My best computer-calculated FC is 5.6L/100km... constant 100kmh cruising. But you'll rarely get these kind of readings unless all you do is cruise on highways. Get stuck in urban crawls and up it goes to 11.

dont worry about negative comments, they not driving the car, you are driving it. Most importantly you love it it will love you back. By the sounds of it most people who post negative comments are either got their choice wrong or they are trying to stop Kia to be famous because they feel that their honda and toyota will be the past.

As we all can see, Kimchi's are much more elegant, exciting, value for money than the dull and boring sushi. Yes we are afraid that we might choose the wrong choice, but what the heck, if forte was a failure it would have failed the day it launch,. Now Naza giving 5 year unlimited warranty, Toyota 3 years 100k km. Honda 3 years 100k km, So if you get forte, get a 5 year plan then you are save, all covered the first 5 years. if the service center improves dramatically, the Sushi's is sure being threatened by the Kimchi's,

i tell you one thing lah, Japanese car's in malaysia are no different from P1 and P2, not in terms of quality, in terms of the value they give to you. Thats for sure already. Dont agree no problem. It's a fact. And again people will blame the Taxes. Well it is so unfortunate about our country.

i think between the 3 companies that Naza is handling, Chevy probably is the one least people buy, Dont know why, maybe it needs another year. Now no one talks about Chevy Cruze anymore. No more news, hardly on the road and the car suppose to be a big hit in this world but it seems more people are talking about Korean cars rather than Cruze. Dont know why. By right Cruze should be a great car, but it dont seem to do very well. Kia and Peugeot is doing very very well, by the time frame they have it is rapidly growing. We see more Peugeots now compare to early 2000's and it is now very common, and its getting better. With more of the model line up coming this and next year we probably see even more Peugeots and Kia's around. Next up Peugeot 508, place in a great price section then it be a hit again. Stealing some of Honda Civic, Accord, and Altis and Camry buyers.
Hoho, are you feeling the threat Fanboys of toyota an Honda? hehe no offense, but Peugeot's are really sexy in design.
