I keep seeing ppl asking about the car resale value of Civic 2.0.
The market trend of car depreciation in Malaysia is 10% a year.
But for Jap's car like Civic, they normally depreciate 40% at fifth year while Korean car is depreciated to 60%.
I then compared both price when you sell both Civic 2.0 and Forte 2.0 five years later => You lost more than RM1800 if you chose Civic 2.0.

Car Model Forte 2.0 Civic 2.0
RRP 97800 130980
Upfront 10% down payment 9780 13098
Need to take the loan to settle the balance 88020 117882
Assume 3% interest p.a. and 9 years interest will incur 23765 31828
total car price + 9 years interest ( if settle full payment for 9 years loan ) 121565 162808
monthly repayment ( for 9 years loan ) 1035 1386
At the end of 60 months, you have already paid installment to bank 62103 83172
At the end of 60 months, you still owe the bank 49682 66538
After 60 months, assume Forte's value left is 40% and Civic still can get 60% 39120 78588
total payment ( exclude maintenance cost ) for the car when sell it end of 5th year 82445 84220

The SC in Sungai Nibong just removed a rubber pipe from the headlamp. Now I don't see any fog or water vapor in the headlamp even it is raining heavily.
