interior space has no significant difference between d 4-speed & 6-speed from wat i observed although d gear changes appearance a little...
*
+ centre console cup holders with chrome lining + bluetooth phone buttons at the steering spoke + electric side mirror folding button at the driver's door + the smart key socket now sit inside the centre console, not under the engine start/stop button as before & yup..not so significant though but chrome lining was a nice little touch i must say wink.gif

thanks for the info.. so i guess it should be about 3k @ 110km/h, right guys? erm, whats the reading for 4-speed forte? whistling.gif
*
If 6 speed Forte 1.6 runs 3k rpm @ 110km/h, then it is as good as the 4 speed Forte 1.6 that also runs 3k rpm @ 110km/h. With extra gear ratios under the hood (for 6 speed Forte 1.6), the rpm reading at 110km/h should be lower than that. Else, it serve no purpose for having extra gear other than smoother gear change whistling.gif But keep in mind that, too many gear changes will contribute to extra power loss due to gear changing unless it comes with a dual clutch transmission or perhaps a CVT (no gears in reality) that keep the power losses (during gear changing) to absolute minimum sweat.gif

By the way, Forte 2.0 (4 speed) reads 2.4k @ 110km/h, so for 6 speed, i expect it should lower than this figure in order to gain any fuel saving benefits (as compared to 4 speed Forte 2.0) especially on highway cruising.

Forte 2.0 rpm at 110km/h (4 speed) with Auto Cruise on

The rpm..is it 2.4k or 2.3k? rolleyes.gif

Just tested 6 speed @ 110km/h its about your reading, no difference apparently, its not lower so I guess it isn't gonna be fuel saving after all
*
U mean 6 speed Forte 2.0? If the reading is about the same..i bet it is true (no fuel saving as compared to the 4 speed Forte 2.0). No wonder the gear changes are so smooth for the 6 speeder..the close ratio did the trick tongue.gif

bro Iz..stop saying how gf FL isit.. my heart broken already... if with the editional 4k, we mod ourself.. can we get those stuff?
*
hehe..sorry bro. cars are always like that one..will get FL in its midlife. Only that, someone bought the unfacelifted version just several weeks before the new FL version introduced..that makes them heartbroken. Though it comes with extra 4-5k, it well worth the price..& i'm so sure that we can't get those stuffs eventhough we got 5k in hands to do the mod. For me, the 6 speed by itself worth the extra 4k already. not to mention the paddle shifters, rear view display & electric folding mirror etc..oopps..i did it again. i should stop saying that right? tongue.gif At the end of the day, the first gen Forte (including my car) are still exciting to drive & still a head turner icon_rolleyes.gif

damn.. then it is fuel saving.. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
*
Yup..that's correct. For Forte 1.6 6 speed, running 2.4k rpm @ 110km/h surely will gain significant benefits in fuel savings when compared to Forte 1.6 4 speed that runs at 3k rpm.. So for Forte 2.0, i can expect the rpm at 110km/h are somewhere around 2k..anybody can confirm that?

Wonder if they put TAB for the 6 speeder..enhanced fuel saving?..loll

mine is 6 speed 1.6 sx, no wonder its close to your RPM rating, i guess probably not bad for 1.6 tongue.gif
*
Certainly not bad at all for a 1.6 car. My previous Waja 1.6(A) also runs at 3k rpm @ 110km/h. Surely it will do good to the car's FC especially on highway cruising wink.gif

can arrr...??? 2km rpm look like no power at all... i know we're cruising on hway but our hway not like at TEXAS one...
straightttt je from A to B... here turun naik, kona left right lagi... so the gearbox will struggle to change gear a lot to meet the road condition... better stick at manual mode (eg: at 4th gear) so the rpm power will always there...
*
Just guessing bro..any 6 speed 2.0 owner can confirm this?

Not as usual la bro..for Forte FL, the 2.0 came out first if i'm not mistaken..the 1.6 follow shortly after that rolleyes.gif

Nope..still at KL but staying 'bujang' right now laugh.gif will travel back to Perlis/Kedah every 2-3 weeks time. Bro..nanti jumpa kat Kedah blh mkn nasi ayam Stadium..hehe

It's usually 2.4K rpm for 110kmh.

My best computer-calculated FC is 5.6L/100km... constant 100kmh cruising. But you'll rarely get these kind of readings unless all you do is cruise on highways. Get stuck in urban crawls and up it goes to 11.
[attachmentid=2056321]

Yupp..agree with u. It is quite hard to get that FC figure. I need to tame & ease down my foot during overtaking to get this kind of figure. My best computer-calculated FC is 5.9L/100km..constant 110km/h cruising all the way from Tanjung Malim to KL (autocruise). The 6.1L/100km FC pic that u saw in my previous post was taken during my journey from Alor Setar to KL with constant speed of 110km/h (mostly) also by autocruising. I guess the hilly road of Perak did contribute to the extra 0.2L/100km in FC. Anyway..for a normal 4 speed 2.0L car , getting 6.xL/100km during highway speed cruising can be considered as very2 good already.

Hi, I had driven Forte 2.0 6 speed and the RPM hit 2.5k when the speed is 120kph
The RPM is ~2.3k when the speed is 110kph
*
Then, it is roughly the same figure with the 4 speed Forte 2.0. So i guess, in term of FC..not so much different between both gen. But in term of riding smoothness, the 6 speeder win hands down nod.gif

*
Though the 2.0 got the extra kick when u need it, the 1.6 on the other hand is already a decent car to drive & with some simple mods & tweak, u will get the extra kick that u need brows.gif

Hi yeowa, glad you are enjoying your ride. For me, I will be getting a 1.6SX tho a 2.0 would be better but to pay 12K more for power seems a bit much (leather seats, MDPS, cruise control not so important for me).
