I feel you... My machine is ready as stated by mucro, but my cash is currently frozen. Mucro isn't too happy about me delaying it too, but I can't help it.

I think there should be a FAQ in the first post... So that people don't ask repeated questions. Not trying to discourage people from asking but there has been a lot of the same questions going around...
E.g. Warranty (How to claim, How it works, Who has the best, etc.) Tax (Customs Tax, Delivery Tax, etc.) Payment (Who accepts what, How to pay, Bank Account Number(s), etc.) Discounts (Who are entitled, How much of a discount, What type of discount, etc.) Resellers (List of resellers, Contact info, "Review" of the resellers) Shipping (Price, Who has the "lowest" charges, etc.) Again, I am not trying to discourage people from asking questions but there should be a FAQ section in the first post and hopefully it would be implemented. I'm quite busy so I can't really help much in finding the needed info. |

Don't worry. I'll try to compile all repeated questions into FAQs. I forgot to reserve the second post to add more info, so first post considered crowded already. I may not be able to provide answers for warranty/tax/discounts since I don't own the unit. I can ask other users to give some info on it. QUOTE(limhongwoon @ Mar 30 2011, 07:50 PM) Now only Mucro.Asia Selling Sager ? Yes you are able to install a second HDD/SSD to the NP8170. So you have 2 HDD plus a DVD drive. If I am right, you can go as far as having 3 HDDs, if you take the DVD drive out. I do not have the NP8170, but I can say that the sound should be better than the M17x R3 because the NP8170 has a subwoofer, that adds some "ummpph" into the sound. I saw the post wrote that I able to install another HDD or SSD in the Laptop ? Actually I not using it for gaming , I just want a more faster Laptop . How is the speaker and the sound card on the laptop compare with Alienware M17X R3 ? How long the battery on the Sager laptop can last if I not gaming and just doing assignment ? U have Alienware Laptop before and what happens to it ? Where can I find Clevo X7200 dealer ? And also I am wrong about the M17x R3 having two GPUs; I just read that it only has one GPU. So clearly I think the Sager will be the winner, unless you are after nice lights and things. Battery should about about 3 hours, medium brightness without doing much. What happened to my Alienware (It's an M17x R2 by the way that has two GPUs)? http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=40140204 And the Clevo x7200 is quite common in many resellers (it is also called Sager 7280). Mucro sells it here: http://www.mucro.asia/index.php?/Mucro-Sag...-NP7280-S1.html XoticPC: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np7280s1-clev...200-p-2935.html |

haha, you found the Sager loophole as of now.
For Sager, the closest is NP5160, but the GPU is just 540m and not 550m, while other settings were configured to the same as Asus. Price is $924.00, but if you buy through reseller you could get a $90 discount if you choose to buy the notebook without a preloaded Win7. In term of price, Sager wins. Performance, might be a close race. Full tech spec of Sager: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

After I survey the price for sager , I saw cubehub selling Sager which didn't preloaded with Windowx 7 and need to add USD 90 for Windows 7 Home Premium ? Should I add USD 90 or I purchase retail pack and install by my self ? I saw Xoticpc have a quite reasonable price and I thinking about the warranty ? If the Laptop spoiled , I need to send it from here to USA by myself and need to bear the cost for shipping ? |

QUOTE(limhongwoon @ Mar 31 2011, 12:54 PM) How about gaming ? Do u purchase extra battery ? I saw some guys saying that Alienware M17X can last quite longer like 5 hours Well, the M17x can last longer because they enabled Sandybridge's GPU, and they only have the GTX 460m as an option now. Sager didn't enable this because they know Sandybridge's GPU has driver and compatibility issues. However, you are buying a gaming laptop, and battery life is never really part of the equation. And I did not purchase extra batteries, because seriously, I don't game on batteries. You get half of your performance by using batteries. If I'm doing work or whatever I'm fine with running 3 hours.Actually Clevo x7200 is too much for me who don't play game. After I survey the price for sager , I saw cubehub selling Sager which didn't preloaded with Windowx 7 and need to add USD 90 for Windows 7 Home Premium ? If the Laptop spoiled , I need to send it from here to USA by myself and need to bear the cost for shipping ? You can add Windows 7 by yourself, if you think it's cheaper. This is entirely up to you. I already have a Windows CD before, so I didn't order Windows with my laptop. And XoticPC, you have to send it to USA with shipping...sorry. They stated this in their website: "This warranty is only good in the United States of America. Repairs are only done at the US factory. In the unlikely event that you would have to return your computer for warranty repairs when outside the US, you would have to pay for the shipping/handling and insurance to and from the Repair Center. |

@limhongwoon : The Optimus driver which enable switchable graphics, if I'm correct, could be hacked from the standard nVidia installer, so long that at nVidia's website stated that your hardware supports it (well, GTX 460 and above should support, no problem over there).
On OS side, I would suggest you to go for al least professional version. The reason is because WinXP mode isn't enabled up till Pro version and above. Refer spoiler below: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |
