then would it be possible for a NP8130 user to, well maybe somehow in the future, to use NP8150 adapter (if the adapter -> laptop male socket connector matches la). sounds good.

Bought my item like 4 weeks ago from lpc-digital, finally it's being shipped to me.

Anyway, anyone knows how long should I expect for my item to arrive if it is using USPS, and the status right now is International Dispatch Arrival (since 11 am this morning). Does that mean the item is still being sort at the airport, or means that the item has already fly from the airport to its destination?

Oh you bought it from LPC? Haha, I did business with them for my order...but canceled it and went for a closer one. They offer cheap too.

The NP8130 and NP8150 uses the same motherboard/chipset. So if you have the NP8150 adapter you can connect to the NP8130.
*
yep, went for LPC after checking their personal ratings, and hey, the person (Larry) was very friendly. He even replied to me when the shipment from the factory to his office got stuck for no reason, but he said that he's working on it to check why my item got delayed from the factory. and in less than 24 hrs, he sent another email saying that the item was finally being shipped to his office. Furthermore, he actually included my mail in the USPS track & confirm email address list rather than giving me the receipt number (or actually he did both jobs). i would say that is like first-class treatment from customer POV smile.gif

okay...ur order takes 2 months to arrive  ohmy.gif  huh.gif

Kahjye,

i would expect orders right now to arrive quite late.

reason was there might be a long Q from ppl who pre-ordered their lappies during the SandyBridge 67-series chipset SATA pin current leakage issue.

Ordered mine 11 feb, item was ready to be shipped by 6th march (if not my own problem for keep on changing address hahaha), currently either still at LAX or already inside plane on d way to Msia (based on one of my previous post about my USPS status)

I believe it's already arrive and possible the local courier service will deliver the item tomorrow (if you live in malaysia)
*
oh din see dat one coming.

USPS express mail usually takes a day, plus no hassle at customs? yeah i live in malaysia. this is awesome news! drool.gif

@Keenxlimit, it should be -3 days

I wasn't sure to either sent it to US coz got my friend on business trip for the whole month, but last minute replied me his bag was full, so i got to last minute change the address to malaysia.

anyway, it's expected to be late, from mid March to end of April. Only then should the orders be stabled, which means your order should arrive faster and not 1 month ++ anymore.

here's the excerpt from sager website (i believe topic owner did mention bout diz @ 1st post)

QUOTE
Intel Series 6 Chipset (Sandy Bridge) Recall Information

Sager and Clevo have consulted together and have decided that both Sager and Clevo will halt all pending shipments of Intel 6 series chipset systems. Models include Sager NP5160, NP5170, NP8130, NP8150, NP8170. (Clevo: W150HNQ, W170HN, P150HM, P151HM1, P170HM).

The current schedule is that starting in the middle of Feb 2011, Intel will start supplying qualification samples of the new revision of Intel 6 series chipset to Clevo. Clevo RD and QC will make it their first priority to test and qualify this new chip revision and prepare for mass production.

Currently the mass production version of the revised 6 series is scheduled to begin delivery from Intel to Clevo in limited quantities at the end of Feb 2011. We estimate that we will resume limited quantity shipment of Sager models NP5160, NP5170, NP8130, NP8150, and NP8170 in the middle of March 2011. Stabilization of shipment for all models should occur by the end of April 2011.

wah bro!!! u using one?

mind to review it and post up some pictars?

im gettin this spec tooooo....good in gaming?!  drool.gif  drool.gif
*
err, i actually posted in my previous post about the item is actually still in shipping. (and funny though, u actually replied to my post.. sleep.gif")

anyway, back on topic.

looking at 1st post, NP8130 review by xoticpc, having a P8861 3DmarkVantage score isn't bad. really.

for gaming purposes, i actually referred here before confirm to buy the NP8130 (you just need to filter out 460M if you feel there's just too much info to indulge at the website):

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphi...List.844.0.html
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Game...ds.13849.0.html

also quite important to understand why i din really care bout CPU, but more on GPU:

this is a lil bit out of topic:

graphics core/core speed(MHz)/shader speed(MHz)/mem speed(MHz)/number of bits/number of pipelines
550m/740/1480/900/128/96
460m/675/1350/1250/196/192

that's why 460m wins. wider bits meaning better throughput, more pipelines should be meaning better parallel processing. Core speed /shader speed was perhaps slow maybe because it's an older hardware compared to 550m (460m was introduced late Q3 2010, 550m introduced early Q1 2011)

Oh, that's weird haha. Oh well, still depends on the reseller though. I understand about the RAM issue though; the extra RAM slots are quite hard to get to.
*
yep, but I thought that the default is a 2x RAM solution and not 4x RAM solution, meaning they actually put it at the bottom slot and not top slot? (like the video showed).

that's weird.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-not...uy-options.html

NP8690 was there, 3D Vision support. but they didn't put in NP8130. maybe This is a Lamp can try see if 3D Vision is supported by the notebook.

@kahjye :

when you customize the laptop dat u want, at the optical drive selection, you'll also see hard disk+caddy case option. but they do warn you that u'll not gonna get any optical drive if you go for that solution.

try image googling for "Sager Caddy Case" and you'll see what it looks like smile.gif

i suppose it should be internal.

ODD is basically using SATA port, just like a HDD.

So a caddy case is just basically a HDD casing but the dimension is the same with your ODD, so instead of slotting in your ODD, you swap/replace your ODD it with a caddy case which has another HDD inside it.

so meaning instead of having 1 HDD + 1 ODD, now you have 2 HDD smile.gif

yeah, but it depends.

you can alwez get an external ODD (which uses USB), while if you use external HDD, you could still store data but usually it will be hard to install anything over USB connection.

but anyway it is your choice. I'm still going for ODD, although I don't think its going to be used much, as I usually burn the DVDs into ISO using my other laptop.

@kahjye : IMHO, i don't think the dead pixel warratny is worth it. not that it's not good, but based on some reviews, it is very rare to get dead pixel from sager notebook.

p/s: OMG u're such a forgetful, i thought i've posted my notebook specs ald laugh.gif

I have got a bad Sager 8170.
Both USB 3.0 ports are not working. The card reader is not working. The enthernet port is not working.
I restart the notebook but it turns off instead.
Something is not right.

I check the device manager, i couldn't find the network adapter (enthernet card). I couldn't see the card reader too.

Can 8150/8170 users catch a snapshot of your device manager? I would like to see what's missing from my hardware list.
*
have you checked for any hidden devices as well? (View > Show hidden devices)

Maybe driver wasn't properly installed?

just a recommendation, but I guess you've tried here as well http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=driver_download2

Both LAN and card reader are not detected.
Both USB3.0 are not working. All my USB3.0 devices couldn't be detected.
Only the 2 USB2.0 are working.

P/S I've tried drivers downloaded from Sager's website too. Not working.
*
woah device not found.

one thing i can imagine (but the probability for this to happen is very low) :

see if they got any bios update on the site. maybe (like i said, very low chance for this to happen), it is disabled in bios, thus the OS doesn't see the hardware. fixing it by updating BIOS sometimes can heal (if only laptop BIOS are as opened as desktop BIOS then it would be easier to solve this issue, seeing the 8130 review by xoticpc, looks like not much stuff can be done on BIOS)

GTX485 on NP8130 have to add RM 1.5K = =" oh gosh loolll....
The purpose of the 10% deposit is for customers to show they are serious about the order. It doesn't matter if you include shipping costs. We are ok. As long as you know there will be quite a waiting time. For some reason the NP8130 seems to be very popular at the moment, we have no guarantee for delivery dates. This is all that Sager has given us. It is normally 2-3 weeks as stated in the product

look this is what mucro replied ...i haz a sad riao

i thought they told u got stock ready wan a while back?

well nvrmind, the most it takes is till end of april, after dat everything will be fine back.
