Hye guys, wanna ask for ur opinion.

My wife n me suddenly got an invitation to go holiday to new zealand this july (winter season dat time). What lens should i bring there? Actually im funding to buy 70200 but dun think its suitable for travel right..

Or should i stick to my plan buying 70200 and start building muscles now?

Budget is around price for 70200, less then rm7k.

Thank you.

carry less/lighter gear if you want to enjoy the holiday. if you want to take pics first, holiday second, by all means, get the 70200.

at least that's how i do it. carrying kilograms on your back is not fun!

For the extra grip I guess, D3000/D3100/D5000 grip is small, good to have extra size from the battery grip.

Not everyone buys BG for the extended life. I use grip on my D700 but most of the time only 1 battery at a time. Leceh to detach the grip from body to insert another battery in the body.

Came to think of it, yes d3100 is a small camera. Hold in hands oso feels small. Even though my hands is small. Vertical shooting and extra grip maybe laugh.gif

i'll stick to wat u have for me, i think 70mm on a DX are a bit tele.
Depends wat type of shooter u r also and ur trip itenanry.
if free n easy and u have all d time to change lens and dun mind xtra weight, sure 70-200mm is good to capture high IQ images.

experience with 2 trip lugging with me atx116, 50mm & 80-200mm.
chances are...i shoot less than 10% of my photos with 80-200mm.
well, tats my case.

BG in D3100 totally troublesome. I think I will be in D7000 or something by then.  sweat.gif

Why troublesome?

I was thinking D7000 but i think i want to get D400 if there is any.
