strange that my question always being ignored...but i found the answer anyway...

here's a new question, we let pc to control phone via winscp and putty, what about the other way around? any software to let us tap in pc to retrieve the data, or may be higher level by remote back in server?

p.s. ssh drain battery fast, have to install a switcher to turn it off, not sure the effectiveness

Yes, VNC. smile.gif
But till now I still haven't managed to set it up. doh.gif
Get an iOS device and use TeamViewer tongue.gif
Teamviewer is the easiest of all till now. But too bad none has been made for Maemo. wink.gif

Hello guys, Mind if I ask a few questions?

I've successfully installed Nitdroid onto my MicroSD card on my N900 by following the frontpage instructions, it works!  thumbup.gif

but the problem is that I cant complete step 11 which is : Type “dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid/multiboot-kernel-power_0.3_armel.deb”
and now when I restart my N900, and shows the boot menu, it shows only : "Maemo 5 omap" & "Nitdroid" but no "Maemo 5 linux v4X"
how do I solve this?  icon_question.gif

another problem is that Nitdroid cant seem to pick up and connect to WiFi networks?

Can you guys help me? Thanks in advance!  notworthy.gif

Try this in terminal:

apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-flasher
apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power-bootimg kernel-power-modules
apt-get install --reinstall multiboot-kernel-power

2. then, slide out N900 keyboard
3. press U, and keep pressing and holding U..do not let go..
4. connect the other end of the usb cable to N900..

jez a suggestion... when i first got my unit, i bricked it within few hours after i got it in my hand. tried maemo flasher, it didnt help. then i use the normal method to reflash nokia fon... download reinstalled the firmware using Phoenix software with "dead usb" option.

i know most people say that this software wont work for maemo, but it does perfectly for me. revived my fon in 10 mins.

I don't know much about the Pheonix. Not much of Symbian user before.
Maemo flasher is fairly easy tool to use IF you know the correct commands. It's always when users messed the commands or downloaded corrupted/wrong firmware files trouble start to appear.
If you really want to mess with your N900 I suggest you guys to learn the basic with Maemo Flasher Tools.
Believe me this flasher tool is godsend for mobile OS.It's very easy to rescue bricked Maemo device with this tool but it's far harder to rescue bricked Android/iOS device.

bro super_evil_alien,

i've read thru..and yes i agree that maemo flasher will be best for maemo devices.

i wanted to try that also, but since my fon is still in good running condition, i dont want to go itchy hand for now. hahaha

but surely will try again maemo flasher the next time i brick it.

btw, the diff that i can see between maemo flasher and phoenix, maemo flasher is cmd line, phoenix is gui.

tried the possible methods, but nothing works..
the phone :-
a) can be turned on but only remain on NOKIA logo, either with color or without
b) battery was taken out for few mins then put it back but jz the same
c) cant connect to any pc hence cant reflash it, even pressing the "U" button without powering up. jz showing NOKIA logo and it stopped there..

any other possible method to survive my dead phone.. if there is no, i think need to send back to factory.
anyway, thanks
