did you do the procedure correct? check on front page on how to flash your phone sweat.gif  step by step
*
yeap....

just an update... at 5am i manage to save the fon after loading back firmware 20.2010.36-2, manage to get back the imei no. and no sim lock occur.

so, now, the question is is the firmware 3.2010.02.8 unstable?

im not sure of that... yesterday was my first day of using the fon.

when i went back, run navifirm, look for device RX-51, i found in the list that was the latest one. so i tried to flash to that one.

hi all again...since im new to these maemo fiasco thingy... i guess i will be asking alot of nooby question... please dont fire me k.

anyway, today everything works fine... except for 1 thing.... i dont here a sound from my wired handsfree....

tried using media player, the sound comes out from the fon speaker. tried calling in and out also the same.

using bluetooth handsfree to my car HU, it was fine.

does that a sign that maybe the fon jack is faulty? if so, how much to repair??? i like to use it to listen to music while doing my work... so i guess its pretty much important to me.

I think it's the type of headset that matters more. Like I tried Apple's headset with remote meaning modified head, it didn't work with my splitter. But Nokia's own headset shouldn't be a problem. I'm using WH500 that I got from X6 and it's working awesome though controllers can't function. Panasonic headset does work great as well smile.gif

Next headset to buy Klipsch S4 biggrin.gif Panasonic lost ady doh.gif

Don't worry. Everyone is more than glad to help but before you ask, do always check out the front page or do a topic search smile.gif
Btw, the guide for beginners well everything on the front page is awesome.
Thanks to the many dedicated TS and everyone from this community biggrin.gif

Btw, don't ever ever ever forget to install FCAM. My favorite software icon_rolleyes.gif

thanks mashimarow and hengguowei....

went back home this afternoon, tried with its original handsfree, it detected perfectly... and fast too! then i've tried with my ancient Philips SBC HP200 headphones... it works great. i guess u guys r 100% correct.... its fussy with handsfree....

ermm hengguowei... came across somewhere about FCAM. but did not go thru as i was bz looking for method to revive my fon. i'll check it out later. thanks.

and i guess next step is to learn how to install apps that doesnt comes with installer packages... hv read a few pages of debian and maemo... but the more i read the more blurr i am... rclxub.gif biggrin.gif

I doubt that the answer

1) I use max brightness
2) GPS on all the time
3) Always connect to WIFI when available

Morning full charge 95% till 6pm still have 40-50% with occasion email, sms and web browsing. oh 15 minutes phone call too

You have other charger to charge your phone? and check if you turn on too many widget
*
yeah... i oso was thinking, i dont think the display will affect since i turn off the display before i go to sleep. so i dont think brightness is the problem, i guess.

anyhow, today i turned off gps, turn to offline mode for the telco network, no widget running, but still my battery drained out. I will try to use another charger tonight.

also, i found a few more problem with this unit.

- i cant turn off the call forwarding option, even when i choose "No" and click save, when i open back the call forwarding menu, it will still tick the forwarding option.

- then i try to change the fon number in the call forwarding option, let say i manually enter a number or simply choose from contact, it will says "invalid number".

- the latest one, i couldnt enjoy Angry Bird Rio anymore, when i click on the icon to launch it, it will open a window for a while, then the window will close without even displaying the game title. tried uninstall from the App Manager and then install back, still the same. Any idea?

i hope sifus here can help me solve my misery, crossing my fingers not to give up this fon after using it for a week only.

thanks all.

just have to check on TMO cause I curious also how to check version I installed, there is the command

dpkg -l|grep XXX

XXX is the package name such as preenv, it will find out and tell you what version you installed

no idea about your bird, maybe find the file from another source, might be corrupted
*
blink.gif

haha... ok confirmed i have the 0.1.7 preenv installed and reinstalled. downloaded and installed again the bird file, but its the same.

the icon is there, but when launched, it still do the same thing, open a window than closed automatically.

super_evil_alien, noted with thanks bro!

hehe... my new battery last only 4 hours on standby mode, with wlan, network op, gps disabled.

that means i simply leave my fon on standby mode and check every 15mins. 4hours after that, its dead. haihhhh....
