Yes, you can.You mean rom from samfirmware.I tried it the other day
Jk5 but failed-no dbdata.Anyway, couldn't remember where i had kept it so gave up. That 's the problem with samfirmware. Selling already?

to all tab sifus and users....... i got question dis is the way uncle benny show step to convert rfs to ext4 in tab....

These are the steps I took :
-Download the EXT4 TAR file from HERE
-Launch Odin 1.7 , in PDA select the TAR file ( do not select the ‘repartition’ option)
-Odin completed, the TAB reset and freeze on TAB logo – is a normal condition . I switch it off ( hold down power button for 5 secs )
-Go to Recovery Mode ( Press down VolumeUp button and switch on TAB )
-TAB reset and perform the EXT4 conversion ; you can see all the conversion progress on screen
-Once completed, the TAB Reboot.

before connect tab to odin did i need to boot my tab reboot boatlooder by pressing power dan volume down?

for ur information im using stock rom dxjm4 and i've done boatloader patch...

Yes..you need to be in download mode for downloading of tar file into the tab..after that the light in ODIN will turn green.

Most importantly, unplug the tab from computer before you switch to recovery mode..

No lar, love my Tab very much (and still got a long way of installment payment to go )A friend wanted me to changed his rom similar to mine (Overcome 1.2) but want to still able to flashed it back to stock in case claiming for warranty...

I have a problem with my Tab where when you lock it, sometimes when you go to unlock it the Tab has turned itself off and you have to hold the power button for a long while to turn it back on.

As u know the red arrow indicates that i've got new mail...but look at black arrow, there is no indicator showing that new mail...guess what, this happen after my Tab upgraded to Overcome v1.2.0...

Any comments ?

Just installed Modaco kernel ( no ext 4 convert ) , during kernel change the original rom will be backup on ext sdcard. Rename the backup file as original stock. From recovery , just restore back

You mean while you using stock ROM, that's indication (no. of new mails received) on the shortcut?
How abt the Stock Mesagging, will this show the indication on Stock ROM?
I didn't notice Messaging indication show on the my Overcome 1.2 ROM while new SMS received.
Can anyone who's using Stock ROM confirm this?

If you want this, there is an app that can show this. Cannot remember the name - try google for it . But if you use ADW launcher, you can download supporting apps to display the notification on SMS, mail etc. Just google adw notification in market

n now my tab stuck at recovery menu.....

Power off your TAB and wait for while.
Start again to download mode, yellow indication will appear on the odin then flash.

now my tab juz show the cwm recovery and show

E: failed to mount/system

Best way to recover it the restore back from Nandroid (if you back-up b4 flash)
or just start from flashing back again the new ROM and then this MoDaCo Kernel.

Sometimes when I plug in the power. It shows the locked screen but totally can't touch anything. Need to force shut down. I didn't root my tab. So shouldn't have any issues I think.

suggest you do a hard reset and see whether issue arise again. use titanium backup or mybackuppro to backup. these 2 software you need to root phone. If you dont want to root, than reinstall all apps allover again.
If issue again, than is definately battery issue , send in ask for replacement battery

If no issue after factory reset, than is your 3rd party apps issue especially those system utilities , battery usage control apps. For such stay away from apps from dubious sources

im try flash back to stock rom using rom from samfirmware.com and now my tab stuck at samsung booting animation....


at the boot it sometimes vibrates few times....

but been using for months. only recently this problem randomly occurs.
if its the battery. how come when i plug in, the screen still lights up at the locked screen.
like u said.could it be the apps? task killer whatsoever? any possible apps that will do such thing ?
