Thank you Benny -- you're the man.

After reading your comments, I took the plunge ie upgraded to Roto V4 JME. Need a few days to test ,so far so good.

I guess you must be tracking the development of paul o brien's ext4 kernel & rom --too soon to flash ? What are your thoughts? rgds, dave

Failed too. Odin stop at "SetupConnection.." more than 5 minutes already....

Found this on xda for you.Hope it helps.

The phone --!-- computer problem is solvable.

Power off your phone, and power it back on with holding the volume down button, when you see the --!-- sign release the buttons.

You are now in download mode, although you cant see the little android with the shovel. Connect it to a pc with an odin 1.7 open and you will be able to reflash it.

Since things are looking slow here thought I'd post. Remember one of you asked about the SGP neo stand. Well, i'm using it. Costs USD 52 incl shipping. Think it looks "cute" but will break if dropped. A couple of photos below (sorry, i'm crap at taking pictures)

@Benny : Still no stable gingerbread , no sign of honeycomb & no stable OC kernel over at XDA tab --Bad.

A belated Happy Lunar New year to all.

The thing which impresses me about richard trip's kernel is the smoothlness when scrolling and pulling down notifications and how light it is when scrolling up again. Was on v10 for a no. of days with sensor isdues until this am to v13.

If i'm not mistaken, my Tab using RotoHammer JMI v2...should i upgrade/change to another ROM ?

Before this, i can send files thru bluetooth without having to install that apps... hmm.gif

So sir benny, can i proceed with this ROM ? - http://android.modaco.com/content/samsung-...online-kitchen/
*
My 2 sen. Switch to Overcome 1.13. Bluetooth is still weak (hard to detect) but once paired it works well. I think the JMx modems have got problems. You'll find that many including myself switched from Modaco rom to Overcome because of connectivity issues .

As for now, is it i have to download Overcome v1.1.3, then proceed with the installation or other steps i have to do first ?  blush.gif

Since you're already on modaco kernel, place the the overcome zip file in external sdcard. Go into recovery mode and install the zip from sdcard. Once done ! , reboot. I actually use Quick Boot from market for going into recovery and switch off/reboot instead of pressing the buttons.

@kelvin-tan : Well I was on overcome rom with modaco kernel, played glow hockey (stupid game from market) and it lagged.Have gone on to richardtrip's oc kernel and playrd thegame without lag.Don't have need for speed now so don't know if there's an issue with overcome rom/modaco kernel. Maybe shinzan can try. Rgds, dave

Are you still on Richardtrip 1.4 Ghz OC kernel ?

I have taken it down and reflash back the Modaco R3 kernel. I just wanted to test out how much improvement it will gave me. The improvement was there but I was uncomfortable with the higher battery temperature ( on average 5 to sometimes 10 degree Centigrade ) higher. So I reset it back to max 1 Ghz using setcpu but than I noted following:

- battery temperature was still higher though reduced by average 5 degree centigrade - I could accept
- live ac direct charging was very slow - I noted about 15 % in an hour  ; before I upgraded the kernel it took only about max 4 hours to fully charge from near empty

i believe im prolly the first in malaysia to crack his LCD after 3 days tongue.gif
they charged me rm800 but i complained about the expensive repairs and bla bla bla, finally reduced to rm650 for the repairs...
BASICALLY THE GORRILLA GLASS IS UNSCRATCHABLE, not UNCRACKABLE... so do get a screen protector or a case...

wow did ur camera or temperature sensor work? i can only get either one working sad.gif
seriously the OC kernel needs undervolt-ing, or u will start feeling the heat..
*
@ Benny : Yes, still on richard trip's V13. And yes, battery is hot. Been playing with UV app.Think at -100 mv for all except 1ghz and 800mhz at -125mv does achieve lower temperatures. Idle @ 29deg and peaking at 39deg when charging. It's at least two deg. more if set at -75mv throughout. I don't use setcpu on demand and schedules --it's very complicated as it is. As for battery life, seems ok although we expect less battery time from a single charge.
All this is probably much ado over nothing while we wait for honeycomb.

I'm using Miren browser now.Think it's great for moving back and forth pages and for moving to the top bar.

@ Myser : Yes, all sensors working with v13. Notice you're on koxudaxi's kernel --which version? Which things don't work? Tempted to try but this is one confused geek --can't even get his version numbers right.

Hi myzer0

hahaha, what to do? play play naughty naughty kena lor .....

Looks like you have Overcome1.1.3 with richardtrip 1.4Ghz. Can you tell me how to do it?

now with rotohammer's JMIv2,
1 I'm unable to apply Overcome1.1.3 via recovery-mode
2 and with richardtrip's kernel hang hang hang

don't know what to say of me now sad.gif

Thanks thanks thanks really appreciate your input on this.
*
LOL your problem has gone global. Just flash modaco kernel using odin. Then you can update to overcome with cwm.then trip v15.

You tried to switch from koxudaxi's kernel to trip's v15 straight away. You should wipe all caches, flash the modao kernel to properly set up cwm (if you have read thru koxudaci's thread you would have figured he has a problem with cwm) then use cwm to update to trip's v15 kernel.

Hi, if I convert my filesystem from RFS to EXT4, do I have to reintall all the apps and would my data be lost?? Be in in the flash memory or internal SD.

Im still facing my HSDPA data tend to broken after a certain time. The data needs to reconnect now and then, very down sad.gif
*
When you flash the modaco kernel with odin, you should be fine.remember no rpartition and no pit.
Actuslly i think it's maxis problem. For me jk2 rom was very good with respect to connectivity.others swear by jk5 euro rom.Maybe flash to that first then move on to modaco kernel and maybe modaco/overcome rom.Your baseband will stay.I'm on baseband jma--don't even know how i ended up with it. Hope i have helped.

This is experimental rom. Not for user who depends on tab daily as it is not a full working version yet. Not recommended yet if you need to do all your stuffs on it
*
Somebody wrote on the xda thread that camera360 can work.Is it true? What about bluetooth? It has been a while since the rom went public.what concerns me is lack of progress. There hasn't been a single update.Looks like the OP is stuck. Rgds.

Backing up my data right now. Then will try the v12. If not working, give up already... sweat.gif

Added on February 25, 2011, 2:44 pmIts working, can charged normally. But the temperature is actually a 'dummuy/fake' value right? It should be dangerous if battery overheats.
*
I was on v13. Early this week, while the temp read 37deg, the phone became alarmingly hot(the top right side)-i mean the kind of hot where you put yourhand on screen you would instinctively pull it away.when the temp read38deg,the screen became even hotter. Obviously the temp sensor has incorrectly read the real temp. Even w ith battery temp at 40deg, the sreen normally doesn't feel that hot.

Anyway I used set cpu to max it to 1ghz without uv and the screen temp dropped. Later when i set cpu to max at 1.2ghz,the prblem came bavk again. Forward to koxudaci kernel,v15 and back to modaco's kernel.
Think the scren is cooler with koxudaci's kernel though.

So take care.

I think your sensor file is corrupted - why don't you try to replace it . Us the one provided by richardtrip in his kernel thread - post #1 : he has a link
Use root explorer , browse to :  system/lib/hw. Select RW mode at the top small dialogue box. Copy a backup of the file first before you overwrite it. It is a standard default sensor file in all android phones
*
I had the same issue when i switched to modaco kernel. The temp was stuck at 30deg.Didn't bother me since the screen was cool.Have switched to koxudaci's kernel --temp fluctuates, don't know if it's correct but screen is cool regardless of settings which is the important thing.

So, clearly not hardware issue Spiroth. Maybe wiping all the caches and battery stats in cwm might help.

Anyone here encounter problem at ClockworkMod Recovery before?
Just want to flash with the Overcome new ROM and reboot TAB by pressing power button and select "Recovery".
After reboot to CWM and want to select "install zip from sdcard", it just show the CWM logo behind (hat with the circle arrow below) and stop.
Although press other selections, same thing happen, logo of CWM display and nothing happen.
I just stop at this CWM screen whenever want to reboot back to OS.
Anyone here know how to reboot with bypass the CWM as i stop now?

Press and hold power key until reboot.
