That's not 'jailbreak' for android but 'rooting'. Jailbreak is the term for apple.

Recommended - Overcome 1.1.1 or Modaco R1
Put it on top of a EXT4 kernel file system - your TAB will be zippier - recorded a 70% improvement in quadrant scores - this figure just for show , realistically you don't get 70% improved in performance but the improvement is very obvious

There are quite a number of variety in the market. Just go to LowYat or Digital Mall ( PJ Section 14 ) - the choices are there. Cheap ones cost around RM 45 to RM60 while the expensive ones around RM 180

There are 2 types of silicon cases : soft rubber-like ( cheaper ) and stiffer hard resin type. The latter has 2 variations - a really hard type and a softer but you can still feel the hardness. Important thing to observe when getting the cheaper types is the edges - I noted those being sold at some counter for around RM50 is good but the edges are rough and sharp - should avoid such. Can always bargain - those cheaper types you should be able to get around RM 40

I bought a Melkro leather case for better protection. It is made of genuine leather - first quoted price was RM220 ; bargain finally I got it for RM 180. Very nicely made and is genuine leather. You can get other alternatives but made of psuedo leather for about RM 90 - again plenty of variety to choose

Roto JME comes with unprotected bootloaders ; that's why you can still flash it. If you wish to flash any firmware from www.samfirmware.com for JM6/9/A/C/D/E/F ROMs specifically - you might need to use the patch to patch it first before flashing

Since you are on JME - why don't you upgrade to JMI instead which is the latest ??

ya i agree tab is not tat bulk..but problem is if dun have bag, or even a jacket or big pocket.. need to hold it on hand all the time or else, it serve me well..now i use it for online only.. then use another smaller phone for call and texting..

shinzan : If you have reflash to Roto JMI - check again to see whether your radio/modem file is OK ?? you will see no data detection and settings/mobile network is greyed.  As JMI zip file does not come with the radio/modem builtin files. If so you have to reflash again using Odin 1.7 - just falsh the radio file in PHONE - select no repartition, no need PIT just select PDA. Get this JMF radio file :

I'd advise to better flash Roto JME if TAB gets stuck as JME will give you back a full working rom to use temporary . Or if you wish to use back JMI when flashing include in the JMF radio file in PHONE

These are optional files. You flash it under recovery mode after you have flash the kernel R3. Somebody mentioned several posts down that if you don't understand this, then you won't need it. I don't really understand too - so I disregarded it

CIFS is Common Internet File System  is started by and considered a  political attempt by Microsoft in the mid to late 90's to rename the "mapping drives" to be part of SMB ( Server Message block ) to something that sounds like they've "taken over the world". At the time, there was  the argument that FTP or NFS were just as valid contenders as SMB for that name, especially since FTP works way better "over the internet" than either SMB or NFS. If all this sound like Greek then just ignore it - you don't need it

What ROM are you on now ?

You need to install the free app Bluetooth FIle Transfer if you wish to transfer files between your TAB to other bluetooth devices eg smartphones, PC, MAC etc. My TAB can work well connecting and exchanging files with my other Android smartphone Dell Streak, Windows Mobile HD2, MacBook Air and my iMAC.

To have successful  connection to other BT devices :
Settings/Wireless & Network/Bluetooth - make sure Make Device Visible/or Discoverable is selected
