A normal 1.5A/2A charger won't charge the TAB. I tried many. There is circuit needed which detect "original" charger.
If it detect non "original", it will just draw 300~350mA (I tested it in my company lab), this current barely enough to maintain normal usage. Added on March 17, 2011, 12:12 pm QUOTE(sooieweng @ Mar 17 2011, 11:22 AM) For me, turning on 3G and WIFI, will last me at least a day (end of day should be half). I get about ~15 calls a day.My google sync/facebook/exchange/sms backup are running. Read news or manga during morning/lunch and during meetings. For me great battery life... Using it almost close to 5mths now. If using it non stop playing games with Wifi/3G on will only last 4~5hrs max. This post has been edited by adamking: Mar 17 2011, 12:12 PM |

QUOTE(sira5999 @ Mar 17 2011, 06:29 PM) hey u all .. tmrw i will buy this phone .. hmm.. can i ask stupid question here? is it samsung galaxy tab is like a normal phone .. what i mean.. that i can call like a normal phone ? of coz yes...see the explanation from GSMArena below: And here we come to one of the more interesting aspects of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. With the handset supporting voice and video-calling, it could in theory replace your phone all together. Now we don’t know how practical it is to have a 7” device as your primary phone but if you decide to go for it, the software is all there to support you. You can talk by using the loudspeaker or you can go for a pair of headphones and again use the microphone on the device itself. The more sensible approach will be to use a handsfree (wired or Bluetooth) as you won’t need to go shouting at the device from a distance. The only thing you can’t do is pretend you are Gulliver in Brobdingnag and hold the Tab next to your ear. Technically, you can do that too, but there is no earpiece and the loudspeaker might hurt your ears, so it’s not generally recommended. As far as reception is concerned, we experienced no issues or in-call voice quality drops. On the software side of things the Galaxy Tab starts strong with Smart Dial. As good as on the company’s dedicated smartphones it searches both contact numbers and names. |

This is quite good in case you are out and you need extra power : it acts as an extra battery and also charges your TAB sametime
The unit can be charge thro the USB port or micro USB port It comes with many additional pins for other gadgets. For the TAB, just plug in your USB cable Input : DC 5V - 1000mA Output : DC 5.3V - 1000mA (MAX) Capacity : 4800mah Dimension : 100 x 44.5 x 25 mm Weight : 140g Color could be white or black depend on availability I purchase it from : See more info at this link http://www.lelong.com.my/yoobao-yb-602-ext...7-01-Sale-I.htm This post has been edited by benny888: Mar 17 2011, 07:06 PM |

QUOTE(dave18 @ Mar 17 2011, 07:13 PM) @benny: thank you for info on yoobao unit.Want to get it too. In theory can fully charge tab? Same time?rgds Yes it charges it at sametime while you are using ; and as with other external chargers it will be slower compared to when TAB is idle. For its price is great value. It is selling for RM 229 to RM 259 at lowyat Garage sales section. I'd say use it as an extra battery when your TAB power is low - is a more efficient use of itSmall and compact - I really like it. |

hi benny n everyone,
I'm considering this tablet, i would like to know if sgt can run or install hong leong bank's stock market live program. I've test to open the program on ipad or my ip4 and it doesnt work. the program runs fine on my 14" laptop, but its a bit heavy to carry around town. Anyone using it on the sgt? And do i need a new sim card or can just hook up to wifi without sim card to surf the net? Advise needed. ?? Thank you. |

i've been searching about g-tab ROMs for a while, and the development for this phone/tab seems slow compared to others. My sis in law just got one, so i'm curious on what kind of mods can be done to it.
btw anyone tried doing this yet? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983846 |
