QUOTE(hkenh @ Jan 28 2011, 03:11 AM) Which lens to buy when buying D7000? 4) Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 EX DC Macro HSM - around RM1.6K1)kit lens 18-105mm VR 2)tamron 17-50mm f2.8 VC 3)sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 OS HSM Macro 4)others ? looking for a good all-around lens and focal length is not a problem as I shoot mostly landscape, street photography and portrait. The Sigma 17-50 f2.8 would be better but it's out of my budget. |

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Jan 28 2011, 12:28 PM) I like the IQ of Tamron but that AF sound is just and the Tamron from the reviews I read it hunts a lot in low light and that basically defeats the purpose of a fast lens. And without OS for the sigma I think it will struggle to take good photos in low light isn't it. 17-50 f2.8 has OS but it's 1k more! |

And without OS for the sigma I think it will struggle to take good photos in low light isn't it. 17-50 f2.8 has OS but it's 1k more! if u want to take pics of night scenery etc, then by all means the tamron can take all its time to hunt cos that building isnt running away. but if u want to shoot ppl in events etc, no amt of OS/VR is going to help u...and faster focusing more important. |
