im just wondering if the weight is all in the mind, or everyone just simply saying tongue.gif

the weights w/o batt.
sb700 360gm.
sb800 350gm.
sb900 415gm.

sb700 and sb900 diff of only 55gm = roughly weight of 2 AA batts.

Ok I'm stuck in the cam shop wondering to get a batt grip or 35mm f/1.8 and I'm able to get either one of it... What do u guys think? I'm on a tight budget recently =(
*
QUOTE(daze @ Jan 24 2011, 05:50 PM)
35mm f1.8 of course... for me.
Batt grip is convenient only for u to take in potrait mode and better grip with bigger lens.
so go for d lens 1st and it should serve u better than another chunk of grip to u.

what he said biggrin.gif

the problem is it is not an AF-S lens. so I can't enjoy the AF on my body.
or upgrading body to d90 is a good idea? Man. I am stuck!  doh.gif
I found myself always playing with the zoom and unable to stick with one particular range if I use zoom lens. therefore when I bring my 1855 out I am playing with the zoom instead of stick with one range and threat it like prime lens.  doh.gif  a bad habit of mine.
Next time I must try not to even touch the zooming barrel. Thanks anyway
*
80-200 got AF-S, but more expensive tongue.gif
http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/80200afs.htm

if on budget, why not find used camera? D70 or D80 around RM1k.

hey sifu's' , i have some question .......

i am considering to buy a flashgun , supposedly sb600 since is it cheapest and it support most feature i wanted .... FP , CLS , etc ....

but SB600 is discontinued now , i am not sure what i should do ...

1) hunt for the remaining sb600 (not sure if the price is still on the high side since supply is low now)

2) save some and get SB700 (considering if sb600 is rm800 and sb700 is rm200 more only? )

3) save even more and get SB900 ??

i am going on travel soon , wish to have a flash gun so some moment are nt missed
*
new sb600 still can find, price still around rm790.
used sb600 around rm600-650, if lucky some still got warranty left.
or can also look at 3rd party like nissin di622 mk2 around rm450.

that the reason I doubt having VC in tammy 1750 is essential as it's maximum range is only 50mm.
moreover VC version seems less sharp

thanks for the input bro. I think I will grab tammy 1750 non-VC instead. but let's see.
*
imo, if u need VC just go for it.
it may be slightly less sharp, but to most ppl if they dont compare wont notice the diff...not as if the pics going to national geographic anyway tongue.gif

and yes u can bump to iso6400, but say for like nikon VR that can do 3-4 stops less, means at the same shutter and aperture u can use iso800...

70-300 VR is ok la, 2nd hand rm1.5k or less.
focuses faster than the 80-200...unless of cos its two touch version.
low light obviously suffers abit, but then all depends on ur needs.

70-300 got one touch ?

One touch = push pull le.
And push pull 80-200 is the lousiest in 80-200 range hmm.gif
push pull cost less than 2k wink.gif
*
umm where did i say 70-300 got one touch?
i say i compare that with 80-200 one touch la...
now if someone somewhere will sell 80-200 AF-S for under rm3k...

I like the IQ of Tamron but that AF sound is just  shakehead.gif
and the Tamron from the reviews I read it hunts a lot in low light and that basically defeats the purpose of a fast lens.
And without OS for the sigma I think it will struggle to take good photos in low light isn't it. 17-50 f2.8 has OS but it's 1k more! laugh.gif
*
All depends on ur needs.
if u want to take pics of night scenery etc, then by all means the tamron can take all its time to hunt cos that building isnt running away.

but if u want to shoot ppl in events etc, no amt of OS/VR is going to help u...and faster focusing more important.

Actually I'm kinda wondering why nikon made D7000..is it that much diff to the D300s? Its an upgrade from the D90 yeah..they can't use D100 cuz they already made that model in the past. And its not a successor to the D5000 as well..so they call it the D7000..is that right? And comparing both features, the D7000 packs a bit more from the D300s. But nikon's soon coming out with a D400..so wut's the point of D7000? Is it just a marketing strategy? Sorry for my question. Just curious biggrin.gif
*
when the D400 or whatever its called comes out, firstly and most importantly it will be in a diff price range from the D7000...and will fill in the price gap between D7000 and D800 once released.
