If I have battery grip, should I get it off or have it on always ?
If the event 30 minutes, so what ? It's good for vertical grip. Show off ? Yesh to those idiots not to those who always shoot portrait.
Add on : it helps to balance up my camera too whenever my 70-200 is there. And those who think no need, probably, the lens is not heavy.
For those who do a lot of portraits, the BG is a must, mine never leaves the camera... If u think dun need BG with lens, then your lens is not heavy nor big enough

The lenses below that I have tried definitely benefits from BG
1. 70-200vr2/80-200 f.28
2. 24-70 F/2.8 nikkor
3. 14-24 f/2.8 nikkor
Prime lens still ok but except those super telephoto prime lens
