The Maybankard2 AMEX Weekend rebate is based on transaction date/day (not posting date/date which is usually 0-2 days after transaction date)
As long as the Transaction date is a Saturday or Sunday, you get 5% rebate.
Check the rebates every last day of the month..i.e. 28 Feb 2011, 31 March 2011

Based on Transaction Date, the day you swipe your Maybankard 2 AMEX card.

My MBB 2 Amex card return to 5X TP, no more 6X

It's been more than a week since I lodged a complaint to Amex about the discrepancy of the 15% cash back for December 2010. I have yet to receive any reply Amex.


I shall wait until end of the month and check whether my petrol transaction at ESSO last Sunday (with posting date on Tuesday) will be given 5% cash back or not.

Based on many comments from Amex cardmembers here, it sounds to me Amex Msia is a poorly managed cc service and often take many months to credit cashback/pts to cardmembers. Feel nervous, coz I will also be an Amex cardmember soon.

I can also back to 5X TreatPoints for Maybankard2 AMEX spending on weekend.... it was good while it lasted.

I have a feeling that MBB found out their 'mistake' here in this thread

Don't worry about the AMEX services, they are not that bad afterall. Only certain % group of people are affected (so far it has not affected me yet)

Their customer service is not consistent, but it is still much better than most of the local banks. Also, Amex is more generous with promotions. Most of us have been benefited from the fast-growing points and cash back.

The CS is the same as MBB cards. I called the Amex CS about the Platinum Credit Card then shortly after called MBB CS about their card, and the same person picked up the phone both times (maybe 2 mins between calls). He recognised me but he still wanted to re-verify me!

So when you say the CS is better than most local banks, MBB CS must have improved also!

From my experience, I reckon Amex and MBB have different teams of customer service staff.

I TOTALLY AGREE with you. The language proficiency tells the difference. It is different from the "pelat" type as we experience with most MBB CS staff.

From Facebook, we can change to MC + Amex pair in April without extra GST. Phew.

The info given by various team are not synchronized. Don't know to trust who.
