QUOTE(winner @ Feb 20 2011, 05:18 PM) Their customer service is not consistent, but it is still much better than most of the local banks. Also, Amex is more generous with promotions. Most of us have been benefited from the fast-growing points and cash back. The CS is the same as MBB cards. I called the Amex CS about the Platinum Credit Card then shortly after called MBB CS about their card, and the same person picked up the phone both times (maybe 2 mins between calls). He recognised me but he still wanted to re-verify me!So when you say the CS is better than most local banks, MBB CS must have improved also! |

I've got a text asking me what Amex's corporate colour is to get RM100. Did anyone get this? Is this legit?

QUOTE(tishaban @ Jun 7 2014, 01:09 PM) I still have the platinum credit card, they've waived my fees so far so that's been good. The gold charge card was cancelled years ago, I got my platinum charge card 1+ years ago. Does the Malaysian Amex Plat come with Marco Polo Gold?Medical evacuation is a perk, if you've read some of the forums, people have been flown out by helicopter etc. when they've needed it. FHR has some good deals but I've not seen good deals in Malaysia yet, most of them overseas. Both are platinum charge card only benefits. Nice to have but not worth paying annual fees for in my opinion. There are others too eg. Marco Polo Club Gold, Europcar Emerald, Hertz Gold, etc. Have not exceeded my credit limit yet, I do have a 6-figure limit that I never even come close to. If you're not keeping the Amex platinum charge card, talk to whatever bank and show your spend figures. I'm sure they'd love to give you that credit limit on their lesser cards. |

Actually I found that the Amex rate is pretty good compared to the VI. How do you figure 4.2? The mid rate for euro is about 4.7.

QUOTE(wjleong15 @ Oct 29 2015, 04:15 PM) My transaction: Depending on the date, that looks like a fair rate. It would never be 4.2, don't worry. You haven't lost as much money as you think.EUR 234 = RM 1,169.45 = 4.997649572649573 EUR 439 = RM 2,194 = 4.997722095671982 Both transaction did on the same day and approved just a few hours differences. |
