haha... ya... a lot of them getting SG set or even G2... coz sg set is only RM1700++ last month... cheaper than here... but i got my set at a good price from a gal...

^Let it run few nights before giving final verdict. It is recommended to calibrate the battery everytime you flash a new ROM.
Regarding 1.82 rooting, since there aren't any special complains about it being unrootable, I think it is rootable, requiring PSNeuter to help along the way. Realized im no more rooted after yesterday's update, fail to re-root using visionary.
I followed foo's link, says need to go way back to 1.3 ,have s off first before rooting on 1.82?? Damn ,hard just got harder |

And people wonder why most ppl on XDA recommend using adb method instead of visionary.
The adb method isn't that hard to begin with. Anything beyond 1.34 cannot be rooted with visionary because the RAGEAGAINSTTHECAGE exploit has been patched, which is the exploit that visionary used. Can. You learn programming and try to find an exploit in the 1.82 ROM yourself. Most of the rooting work has been stopped because root has been achieved for the 1.34 ROM, and downgrading back to 1.34 basically serves as a workaround that works.

If I understand what i read, supposedly if you s-off in 1.34, you s-off forever.
I'm on CM6.1.1. Last used stock ROM is 1.34. |

I think so, coz you'll be basically flashing a new ROM over it. Tread carefully coz nobody here has done anything like that before.

I guess there are a lot of owners of the DZ here. I plan to get one too, but looking at the prices.. it's still quite expensive on the maxis package.. It's like they want me to go get another phone. Asked a few days ago, they wanted 1.4K with 2 year contract.. WTF?

somehow i heard someone said official stock will turn s-off. but of course rooted rom such as
"Vision Sense 1.82.405.1 Untouched (from WWE RUU): Rooted/Deodexed" "Virtuous v1.0.1 (HTC Sense 1.85.72.2) w/Fixes & Enhancements" altho they both based on 1.82 and 1.85, but they wont turn s-off. only those from OTA will. thats what i heard tho. |

^you mean switch security flag to 's-on' (instead of s-off)?
Official RUU will turn back s-on. OTAs won't (if you s-on previously with gfree). The 2 roms you mentioned are basically custom ROMs. |
