Just had a quick OC run with my rig

i5 2500K 5.0 GHz [1.45V Vcore in BIOS,Internal PLL Overvoltage Enabled]
MSI P67A-GD55
1X4GB Mushkin Value DDR3
CM 212 EVO Push/Pull

What do you guys think?Personally i'm having doubts at running my CPU using that much voltage sweat.gif

bearly hear the fan spinning on my Corsair's.
ur PSU is running hot that's why it spins faster & louder.
could be due to overload & 24/7 folding.

nice try
i think ur CPU speed is throttled down coz it hit 98C already. hmm.gif
looks like u're running on vanilla win7
expect higher vcore on win7 SP1
should run LinX on all the mem

aircooling won't be able to do IBT/LinX stable @ 5.0GHz

i'm back to 4.7GHz @ 1.30V in BIOS right now.About that run,i've already have SP1 installed .
One thing that's bugging me right now is that with LinX 0.64 [All RAM] i'm only getting around 94Gflops at 4.7GHz while i'm seeing people say that they can get 110Gflops~ at 4.5GHz.
What do you think would be the cause of this?Max temps are below 80c with this setting. hmm.gif

i found the problem of psu, there is a transparent plastic below the fan (near to the socket) to redirect the airflow, its vibrating , zzzzz

SEEM's this is the best setting i can get, because run all the stress test and it past..... but if anyone know anything (tips) for OC up to 5.0 and above give me a hint please

around 122.xx~123.1xxx what this mean actually ? higher or lower better

use the latest LinX/IBT posted in my post #1?
should be getting above 100 gflops

other than enabling internal CPU PLL overvolting & increasing vcore, i don't see any other settings to change.
i see u got a bad chip, might wanna try 1.55v @ LLC 75% or 1.5v @ LLC 100% (watercooling only)

Yeah im using watercooled atm but after 1.545 volt it seems it still cant hit 5.0... nah, my chip really bad maybe... oh well i think im ok with 4.8ghz@1.490

Let hope next IB will come in with 1155 sc and i get a good proc..

I've tried with the Linx you posted on the first page and still i'm only getting around 98Gflops only. rclxub.gif

Finally have the time to test my OC. Went for 4.2GHz on 1.3v, still not stable. Now running Prime95 with 4.6GHz on 1.4v, I hope it's stable. :s

Off topic; does expensive thermal paste are actually better? Any good thermal paste for recommendation?

don't know what's the reason behind this but that low GFlops means CPU throttling/ underperformed. could be VRM overheating
turn off all power saving features C1E, C3. C6, EIST
windows power management set to high performance
in LinX set priority to above normal/real time, run all mem
or could be other OC settings failed to work

I'm using Arctic MX4, easier to apply than Tuniq TX4.

Will look into Arctic MX4.

Still running Prime95. I just realized 1.4v is quite hot. One of my cores reached 70c on H80 with a pair of Noiseblocker M12P. :s

Ahaaaaa..... that an idea!!!

I will try to off all the AutoBoost and off all the ECO saving features . . . and will try if i can hi 5.0 or not... Maybe the volt inside the motherboard not stable because of the auto boost ? hmm.gif

wish me luck~
