Hmm. Thinking of letting go my XZ-1 for something really pocketable, ie the Canon S100. I realized that for me, I'd like my compact camera to actually fit in my pocket comfortably. If it doesn't, it kinda defeats the purpose of having a compact camera. :/

I do love the lens on the XZ-1 though, still can't be beat IMO. f/2.5 @ 112mm is really something.  biggrin.gif

Thinking of that too. But the price is almost double of the S100 at USD650.  sad.gif

I'm interested in its AWB accuracy under yellow light and mixed lighting conditions. The Sony's I've tried made a makes a mess out of these conditions.

which camera that you tried that gets accurate WB under strong tungsten light? i have tried all the brands and they have the same problem. hmm.gif for mixed lighting conditions i'd say the a77 does a pretty good job. laugh.gif

True that ... and its kind of subjective. Reason why I brought this up specifically is that I saw some photos posted in taiwan site showing overly blue-ish cast for mixed lighting.

Btw... Thursday jor.

Just curious why you want to size down from an already small NEX?

nex to me is big when i include the legacy lenses...
i need a crumpler 7 million bag to carry almost all the stuff along..
its ok for long road trips where i dont have to walk alot..
but if i'm at work (construction site) then the nex is a liability...
i'll be bringing a 7.7 tab, laptop, lots of building plans, water etc..
there's no place for a nex...
thats why i bought the xz 1...
now, i'm just plain too lazy to carry the nex any more...
but the nex's low light capability is way better than the xz1..
espeacilly if i use a pentax f1.4 lens on it...
thats the strength of cmos sensor.
and since i'm not using the nex, why not sell it when there's still some value to it..
i'm keeping my legacy lenses tho for the next cam.. preferably with articulating screen AND an view finder for the bright sunlight situations...

plus photography to me is a hobby... the passion comes and goes...
i find it useful when i document my works..
i'm a lighting designer...
sniper: if u need to do your home, let me know.. i can help u out.. gratis..

some of our works...

Depends on how you shoot it lo... XZ-1's got its quirks but it still take as well photos (there's always ways around it) as anything in its class.

Maybe except the RX100.

Just a test shot niah... mucking around just a while ago... Bracketing 5 shots to extend dynamic range of the XZ-1

You can use AEB for 3 shots... then use various software like photomatix etc to combine.

But due to the limited dynamic range and for bigger contrast like the pic above... then can manually shoot more than 3 shots.
