I found my confinement lady from another baby site "mead johnson" came highly recommended by many forumer there.

Mui Jie - 016-394-5709, Just as what others mention she is very professional, very knowledgeable, very experience , she fully encourage breast feeding, cooks good food, very attentive, take care of my baby with endless midnight calls, she is so caring to the stage that in the first 2 weeks when I wanna eat or drink she will bring everything to my bed and later bring a bowl of water for me to wash my hands, I told her no need la, but the first week I really needed that kinda care coz getting out from bed with the stitches really hurts a lot.

Her price then was a bit expensive, RM3.3k not inc ang pow, she works 28 days only. The good part is after that we became good frens as I call her often for tips and advises, I was a real noob with baby things, so she was our lifesavers. She would drop by every saturday night and see how is everything until she got another assignment. Very responsible confinement lady.

Highly recommended, but beware, her service doesnt come cheap and you've to booked her 6 months in advance as a schedule is very tight.

yea on CNY they charge double, a close fren of mine EDD 24 Jan, she got one after nego is 5.5k.

I've no idea how much she'll charge but I dun think so you can still booked her as my fren tried her EDD is 24 Jan and she has to get somewhere else. I've heard so many ppl with horrible experience with CF lady, so I make sure I do my homework b4 engaging one. Mead johnson site was a life saver then, help me skip a lot of problem. Thats why I've requested Mod to hv a parenting/BB section to help others here.

abit off topic .... if my wife's EDD is on 27th feb ... shud i expect the date to be 2 weeks earlier? (was told it shud be 2 weeks earlier from the EDD by few friends) -- is it true?
and if its on CNY .... really everything double charged???

but .. lucky for me ... my mum / MIL both can do confinement for me ...

usually the chances are higher on the earlier 2 weeks than the later 2 weeks. Lucky you!!! can save a lot of money.

there used to be a company called peiling which provide confinement services. However due to their management problem, this company has closed down. Luckily I used their service before the have problem.

From my experience, those confinement lady who are good usually go work in Singapore. The pay is so much higher after the exchange rate. Those who are left in Malaysia are either substandard quality or those who do not want to travel.

When you get introduced, make sure to ask for credentials from previous employer. Ask around if possible.

There is this confinement lady I got for my first baby which is absolutely professional and good. She usually go to Singapore but just that during my time she was around.

Found one CL already from a confinement centre. they do send out their ppl to houses for 24/7 work

cost Rm3k but if during CNY from 1st to 6th day of CNY, it's RM5k.

i hope they're good enough but i got the assurance from the owner that if we don't like the CL, can change anytime.

I'm in the mid of my confinement period.. just past 10 days and the stupid lady already driving me crazy!!!

she reject this and tat n giv me eat those food which I cannot eat!!! stupid !!! I don't know coz my first time!! then my mum in law come back n ask me what I hav today and then I told her I had pumpkin.. then she say omg I can't take tat!!! coz got wind n will cause my wound infection:-(.. crazy !!!

still got lot to complaint about her!! but lazy to say and all I can say is even u hire a confinement lady pls set all the rules and job scope for her and hav someone (mum) to observe her..

hello! as per some of the above advise, please
1. get direct reference from previous employers
you must hear from their real experiences. also judge from what they do. don't just hear they say good good then you ok. you should ask how she prepares milk, how she cleans baby, how's her cooking/hygiene etc.
2. make sure both agree to terms and condition set by both sides. let her know what you expect from, what you must have and can't have
ie. my neighbour came across one who sucked, in less than 2 weeks, sent her off but she insisted for half month salary saying they caused her lost of other bookings due to booked by neighbour. mind you, she already got Rm500 deposit in the first place
3. as for monitoring her while on the bed...you can try iMon not so pricy and portable/wireless...baby monitor with visual and sound...later you can use to watch your baby in the baby room. one monitor can pair up to 4 cameras. i use that. approach http://www.facebook.com/mnmkidz for enquiry.

I have a suggestion here, may be u can find someone know how to cook the confinement food.(if you are stay with mother or in law during this period)

Ask that women just come and cook for morning, afternoon and night + help baby shower, wash our cloth. Follow my case, it's cost about RM 1,000-RM 1,500 ( she my in law's friend)

Then we are take baby ourself loh. Although it's will very tired....tired and tired.....
but also a good train ourself and get experience to learn how to take care of baby.

i had a bad experience with CL and hopefully my next baby i dont need to hire anyone.

1st Lady (Kepong)- paid booking rm500 and waited, 2-3 days before Deliver call her inform. On the day itself she told me mom not well in Sabah and may need assist her bro, so delay 2 days.

2nd lady - temp replacement for 1st lady works ok but only for 3 days as 1st lady will back. After 3 days 1st lady came 1/2 hour and says mom critical and need back Sabah....

In real a check with other CL her mom dead long time liow and this lady likes to give all sort of excuses. Suspect she got better offer...
These lady is a Chinese Indon and no I.C. according to others CL.

3rd lady - from internet a confinement center in Seri Petaling.
As it was last minute so no choice have to take any and pray hard it goes smooth.

Bad: She is lazy, mumble a lot (talk loudly), dirty in the way she cleans the food, baby and wife things and worst she scolded my wife when ask her something. She keep on says 'its like that one, dont show me yur attitude'

Immediately sent her back and paid whats due....

Sound familiar experience, not sure if it was the same CL - named Sister Y***. in 60s, 5 ft plus, curly color short hair, age 66 (2001). color her fingers, claim she is from kepong or kajang (may be is her BS), from one of the famous CL agency.
- refused to sleep in the same room with baby & mom (No.1 rule to fire the CL)
- refused to follow instruction to cook meal as per request
- dirty, talk too much, talk nonsense, ask for more $$
- no 1. in the fire list, no no.

Guys...please share the CL name as you will help fellow forumers to avoid using the same useless Confinement Lady.

My wife just gave birth last Wednesday and we got a confinement lady recommended by my aunt....althought I wouldn't call it a disaster, but she did a few things that really pissed me and my wife off..From this experience, I concluded that we should always research and interview the Confinement lady prior to confirming her. A lot of these confinement ladies are not educated, from kampung and take pride in their YEARS of experience (YET some don't even know what the heck is sterilization before putting anything to baby's mouth!)

Her name is Mei Juan and she's from Segamat, Johor , in her 30s+ and charges RM3500 excluding ang pow. Sigh, don't know why my aunt recommend her...must be a friend or her friends I guess..silly me to simply accept without screening. I talked to her on the first day and she told me that she has not gone to school before and it was her first time coming to KL...and her previous experiences on the job is at Johor and Singapore. She also said she hates doing confinement for Singaporians because they're very particular...(In my heart I was like, I'm going to have the same expectation as the singaporian)


1. She likes to hold our baby with one hand, then use the other hand to hold the hot flask and make milk. We suspected that she accidentally pour a bit of hot water on her legs as our baby suddenly cried so loud but we when questioned her, she said it's the hot milk bottle that accidentally touched her. Once we saw her holding our baby to the kitchen to stir the food that she was cooking!!

2. Keep feeding baby with water although my wife breast feeds our baby. Our baby has jaundice (420+) and after the phototherapy, the doctor told us that we should keep feeding baby with breast milk and let her pass motion...but the confinement lady kept giving water to our baby which fills up our baby's stomach...
somemore when our baby was looking really yellow, the CL kept said it's normal...must bath the baby in yellow water (something that they sell in the chinese medicine shop) and drink more plain water.

3. She bought a white powder and wanted to feed our baby on the day 2. I asked her what's that and she said it's to prevent angin or colic. Then I saw her taking an unsterilized spoon and she mixed the powder with water with her fingers!! What the hell man....Tried to stop her but when it was too late when I realized she did that...

4. Cook something called "Huang Jiang Ji"...not sure what is that but sure looks like curry chicken to me! and it's damn spicy.....can someone in confinement eat super spicy stuff? Please correct me if my understanding is wrong......new papa here..

5. Didn't wash the milk bottle properly after each use...when I open up the bottle I could still smell milk in there....so end up I have to wash it again...

6. My wife has been pumping and storing breast milk, and it's not easy task and every ounce is precious...then everytime she will tell us to heat up an amount that our baby cannot finish! We knew that our baby can only drink 2 ounces, and if sometimes when she's really hungry, we will top up abit by making 1 ounce of formula milk because we didn't have enough breast milk back then...now as the breast milk production increases, we store more ounces and the confinement lady asked us to use up everything in one storage....and if baby cannot finish it, she said put back the bottle in the fridge!! Can we keep back "contaminated" milk in the fridge for later consumption?


Having said that, generally she's quite a nice person and helpful....but I guess she's used to doing things with her methods she used in kampung which I find it quite unacceptable (especially putting unsterilized spoon into her mouth on baby's 2nd day after birth) ....We're counting down to her last day and we'll bid her good bye!
When we have our 2nd child, we will not use any more confinement lady...better I gao dim myself since I'm used to doing house chores anyway!

U paid 3500 for tat lousy CL? My aunt charge 3300 & she has > 15yrs experience. Better tell my aunt to raise her fees

yes unfortunately...Years of experience is imortant but that's not everything..what's more important is the CL's personality,attitude and ability to communicate to set the right expectation with the customer...not just doing things with pride because it's the "BEST" way or that's "MY" WAY while playing dumb thinking they know everything

i agreed with wat you say. after all it's your child & not CL's baby.

i want to think my aunt is good & she's highly sought after. after all if she's not good, some of her customers won't hire her for their 2nd & 3rd child for 2mths

I have a bad experience also with the CL. I have pre-booked her and pay a deposits of RM700 to her 6 months ago to secure her services. End up she called my wife up this morning to tell her that she have another confinement this January 2012. I was like WTF, i have pre-booked her 6 months ago and pay her deposits and now she tell me that she got another confinement service in January 2012. Btw my wife is due this month on the 21st Dec 2011.

I was like starting to curse her like hell (in my mind lar of course). How irresponsible this lady is ??? Now I'm searching high and low to have a replacement for the CL. Do you guys have any recommendations ??

How abt ur deposit refundable?

We have been calling this lady up since this morning but to no avail. I think she switch off her phone. I'm trying to get my introducer to help me to settle this. Finger cross that I might still able to get my deposit back.

hearing of all these, it makes me fortunate that i've got my parents n in laws to swap places overtime when they needed break of taking care my baby.

Mine CF also from ipoh. Gave deposit RM700 also, but she had agreed guaranteed replacement and contract agreement was signed upon. However she can't make it due to sick,but had help me find her friend for replacement. Just hope is a good one.

Thanks to yivoon's post, i have managed to find a CL that support breastfeeding.
As everyone know, 9 out of 10 CL out there prefer to feed formula, as their job will be easier.

Food
- When she first arrived, she will open up my cabinets and take out everything that she need. Organized everything and list out a shopping list for my mother in-law.
- She cooked for myself, husband, mother in-law and maid. Mother in-law will do the shopping and help her with cooking. I am not a picky eaters, as long as its not the same dishes everyday then i am happy.

Baby
- My baby has a bit of jaundice and we rented the machine for photo light therapy. She has experiences with the machine, and know how to comfort the crying baby. It was such a pain watching baby crying inside..
- She would bring the baby for me to breastfeed every few hours. After initial few days, my nipples started to sore... I cant bf my baby directly, and we need to hand expressed the milk (electrical pump also hurt my nipple) .. She even helped me to massage and hand expressed at midnight~
- For once, i did think about giving up bf, I have even asked my husband to buy formula. But CL insist that I could continue bf even the formula was just sitting on the kitchen's table.. For others CL, i believe they would have used formula...
- She won't use any bpa bottle that is more than 6 months old. She suggested me to use brand new bpa-free bottle + pre-sterilized BM storage bag.
- BM bottle/bag would be put inside a container and store inside the fridge.
- All my breast pump tools are washed & sterilized by her. Basically i only need to sit down and express, once done just get back to rest.
- She would let my older child drink my used/unfinished BM or throw it away..

Hi there, I think a standard service given will only be 28 days. Not 30 days, better check with your CL. A range between rm3.2k- rm3.6k exclude ang pao is quite common rate now. Normally ang pao will be around rm200.... Hope the information help...

Here to share my experience.

I engaged the CL on Nov11. Her cooking was ok & quite sayang my baby but she is bit rough, my new pots all become old
pots & spoil my rice cooker & my kitchen is dirty.

We talked on phone few month ago that the confinement fees is RM3200 angpow RM100. But when the 28th day she left, she requested RM3300+RM100 angpow. We don't have black & white, so i gonna pay her RM3300+RM100. Somemore
she left on the 28th day morning 11am. I requested her to stay til noon 1-2pm she refuse!

Another horroric CL.... :S Same as mine...all the pots and pans rosak especially the Tefal coating ones.....damn it
happylife_v_apple , you shouldn't have paid her the extra RM100!! Consdering she destoyed all the expensive kitchen wares and she broke her agreement of RM3200 CL fee!

Mine still got 7days left to end 28days...so far I'm ok with this CL. Her end date is 6th Jan, so she will leave 7th Jan morning.
So far she bring food and water up for wife, every morning mop floor downstairs and alternate mop upstairs too. So far any comments frm us that not satisfy, she will follow. Wash and cook for husband too...

yeah CL always encourage bottle feed because then baby will tend to sleep longer, but long run breast milk is the best. We have had 2 differnet CL for our 2 kids, both were pretty good, each with their own pros and cons, although i realise that a lot of them tend to be hakka, so if you are looking for one, try asking in hakka areas medicine shop i guess?? anyway, these days, a few friends and cousins also having babies, from what i gather, the "market" rate may be 3.3k plus angpow, but if you do want a good one, be prepared to offer up to 5k the moment you see her, i even heard of them accepting the job at 3.3k then turning it down and returning the money! too much competition from mothers to be in singapore, australia, uk, canada, etc

All those staying in countries with higher currency exchange rate tends to spoil the market for those locals in Malaysia. Aiyah!!!

To share some bad experience. My CL only last for 3 days. Her service is ok but not honest in fact very greedy. I booked her 2 months before my EDD which fall on early December. Actually I wanted to book another CL but her booking is fully, so she recommended me this CL call “LAN” Jie. Total package was 3300 plus 200 angpao. I paid her RM500 to secure her service.

My nightmare arise
1) she called me back 2 days later after RM500 deposit ask me to bank in RM200 in advance for her to pay the recommendation fees to the other CL which recommended her to me. So I did.
2) My baby was born 2 weeks early due to last minute schedule for caesarean. I called her up few days before my operations, she was giving me an excuse that she needs to go back to home town for some family reunion dinner. I was to kind hearted so I stay in hospital one more day to fit CL schedule.
3) On the arrival day, she came around 8pm, giving me excuse that raining heavily unable to come out from house. She wanted to come next day but i refused and insisted she come on the same day.
4) On the 4th day, around 11pm++, she knocked my bedroom door complaining that she has serious gastric pain which she told me she often has the pain. So my husband drove her to the 24hrs clinic and the medical charge was RM150. Due to the seriousness the doctor wrote a letter for her to admit to hospital. Around 1am my husband drove her to the KTM station and her son pick her up.
5) On the next day I called her up, she told me she was admitted to the hospital. And she unable to continue to do my confinement. So recommended me her sister to help up but she told me her sister has no experience being a CL but has help up doing for family member only. Being that so, I feel no confident and ended up calling MIL to help out.
6) After the 2 months later I tried to call her up to settle the money issue. I call few times never answer phone ended up my husband use office phone then she answer the call. She was giving a lot of crap excuses said she admitted to hospital, mother passed away, her son’s maid passes away. She said she got stone in her stomach which causing her pain. I ask her to calculate deposit since she work for 3 days and the RM150 medical bill. She told me she worked for 5 days which including the day she arrived at 8pm and the day she left around 1am. This was not fair I told her how about medical, she said the employer suppose to pay. I told her if she is having fever or any injury that happens in my house I dun mind paying but the cause was the stone in her stomach. So ended losing 700 + 150. I also dun bother to ask anymore I treat it as charity.

For those who are engaging CL, please take note of this ‘Lan’ Jie from Kajang, mid 40s, a bit plump, length hair of her hair slightly shorter than shoulder and highlighted in red, talk very fast. Her phone number is 016-9695361. Please avoid her. Too bad I dun managed to capture her photo! Else i will upload her photo. And i called back the earlier CL who recommended her to me, to my surprise she never receive any recommendation fees from her. So May God Bless Her Well!

hi all, i'm a new mommy-to-be. would you all suggest to get a CL from confinement centre or private?
I need more suggestion as i know this year most CL would be fully booked.

I am mum-to-be as well and EDD is June 2012.

First of all, I am not the type of person can accept stranger easily, some more have to stay together for 1 month.
However, thinking of all the chaos after birth, I really need someone that can help me and my in-law especially during the 1st month.
This would be my first child and I could not imagine how complicated and how difficult the situation would be.

Anyone knows if there is any service that can provide only confinement food include the delivery?
At least this would not tired up my in law too much, they just need to focus on the baby.

How much would it be?
Is there any minimum order like only 1 week or 1 weeks?

I also book last minute due to the first one fly kite last minute. Thank God for a good CL in the end. I am having my 2nd child soon and will be using the same CL again.

my aunt is highly recommend, people would call her from Dubai, Singapore. and she make you you are well taken care of. cooking you will not be eating same food everyday, each time, or day cook different thing that even me never eat before

i actually found 1 but i'm not sure if she's good and dono if she can schedule her time well. she alrd has 1 to take care on 2/8, but my EDD is 29/8. if mine is earlier or hers is late, then our date will be crashed. but she still said can accept my case.

Sharing my experienced of this nice, pleasant, humble CL.
My location at at jb anyway. CL was introduce by my wife relative which has used her service beforehand and got alot of positive feedback. So without hesitate, fast hand fast leg book her dont let her runaway.
Come the date my wife delivery my precious daughter, i call this CL to inform her to standby and go fetch her after my wife n daughter was discharged from hospital reach home.
As usual of a CL of her experienced, she cook the food the chinese ppl eat 1 lar. But due to instruction from my in-law, every morning breakfast is always the same. Lunch, dinner and tea time will be alternate type of food.
-Once a-week my in-law will bring CL to morning market to stock up the food, the reason bring her alone is because easy for her to choose the food/vege/meat of her choice.
-she handle the baby with so much care like her own grand daughter.
-always at night after baby sleep, she will sharing her do's and don'ts with my wife( give tips ),
-midnight wake up feed my baby, petting, change diaper, talk to my baby.
-she do house keeping also, whole house is so clean. I dont expect her to clean my house.
-at night, whatever she cook, i will eat with her. I treat her like my own house family.
-she wash all cloth except my cloth only. anyway i dont mind wash my own cloth.
-she cook some formula soup which can enhanced the breast milk, as she very encouraging my wife to breast feed 100% and tell my wife to breast feed for a year. Indeed my wife did breast feed my baby for 1 year.
-as my house is double story, u all imagine the trouble to walk up and down to bring food, hot water for my wife.
Anyway she voluntarily extent for another 1 more week as she say she go home also got nothing to do. ok. What had begin, will come to end. Is time for her to leave after the confinment.
The day she left, she still cook the last breakfast and lunch for my wife and feed my baby, prepare a lot of thing for us for the next few day routine which we will do ourself.
When i drive her back, i can see her teary eye. I can feel she love baby a lot. What to do , life must go on. She will handle alot baby after my baby.
She told my wife to engage her again if happen to had a second baby in future which we promise her we will definitely would.
Her service is RM2800. Not include ang bao for pick her up (Rm100) and sent her home (Rm100). Additionally i pay her extra Rm500 because i totally very satisfied with her service. I dont have any single complain against her.
As my wife now in 4th month pregnant, we did call her 2 month ago to book her but was told that she cant service us anymore as her leg had give up d. too bad.

I have some of the confinement lady hp number. Prices are up high enough. Some I got RM3,500 and is not included red packet. And, some RM 3,300 including red packet and some not.

I am looking for RM 3,000 including red packet. I think this should be enough. Nowadays confinement lady taking advantage to earning more and they charge incredibly high.

I have contacted one RM 4,000 without red packet. I scolded her enough enough. And also this lady also asking for RM3,600 without red packets and working 28 days and don't want to share her experiences. Both I scolded 'kau kau' also. hehehe...

I feel impolite but I am angry.

MY EDD estimated 30 SEPT 2012. Everytime visit gynae.. when he scanned the ultrasound.. it's will tell different due date...

At first he estimated 23 SEPT
Then second visit changed to 30 SEPT
BUt i checked online.. My due date is 28 SEPT...

This is my first pregnancy...

Not yet pass 1st trimester.. Worried if i too rush looks for CL, BB will small gas..
But if not find CL now... will stuck in the middle..!!

Congrats! Me too!! Wow, we'll have the same delivery date and same feelings too. I worry almost everyday and next week I'll be going to trip oversea. And worry if I can travel on June too. Sigh!

I have engaged one of the CL from Kampar, Ipoh but I havent pay anything yet. She's quite understanding. I chase for her account number to bank in for her but she will let me know when is stable.

I think you guys should be careful of some confinement ladies. Some of them are lowly educated and have no idea about simple hygiene.
Sometimes you will see them coughing or sneezing around without covering their mouth. Don't know what infection they will give to your baby.

And some of them are still following nonsensical tradition like someone here mentioned about giving chinese baby herb.

Don't simply take those chinese baby herb. Or some CL are against breastfeeding.

2. clean, hygienic... sometimes a bit of OCD (which is good).
3. easy to talk to, pleasant, friendly
4. very cincai about food that you provide for her to eat
5. helps in household chores - washing clothes, sweeps floor, wipe kitchen, wash up after meals etc.

6. SHE COOKS VERY TASTY FOOD AND NICE SOUP.

Hi,

I hired Aunty Susan for just 2 weeks because very unfortunately she fell down in the kitchen and got her hand injured and force to stop working.

Overall, she is quite good – clean and neat. Indeed, I though I had hired a chef. She cooks well and she loves cooking Those cooking ingredients that she used really good to get rid of wind and slimming. We loves her cooking. She cooked for my hubby and 3 yrs old daughter too. Can you imagine we didn’t have repeat dishes (beside vege) for 2 weeks.

Aunty Susan takes good care of me and she support breastfeeding. However, there are 2 things we not quite like about her:
1st – we feel that she doesn’t really like taking care of bb, though she did a fantastic job of taking care of me. The 1st thing she stated when she came was since I breastfeed, bb will sleep with mummy and not her. Isn’t cl job is help us taking care bb so that we can rest and recover faster?
I could still remember for continuous nites after me and bb discharged, bb basically was crying hard at night (9pm – midnight). Reason – bowel movement. We were busy changing and cleaning the bb. The next day, she said she heard bb crying very loud last night and ask why. We really unhappy because why didn’t she come over to ask whether we need help or see why bb kept crying and offer her hand if she heard it in next door?
2nd – she likes to twist and turn during the conversation and indirectly telling you something – we hate that. Why can’t she talk straight to the point? A lot of times I need to guess what was she trying to tell me or ask for.

However, overall Aunty Susan is nice person, easy going, clean and neat. I will still recommend to you if you doesn’t really need a cl fully taking care of bb as she cooks well and did a really good job of taking care the mummy. She is charging RM3,600, only want to work in m’sia. Ang Pow amount is up to you and she is from Ipoh.

I considered myself very lucky. Right after Aunty Susan left, I browsed through the internet and I got myself another confinement lady – Sim Yee (Seremban). She was free at that time because the bb whom she suppose to work with was in ICU and have to cancel her job.

Sim Yee (019-252 1118) is total opposite of Aunty Susan, haha… She is like the bb grandma. The 1st thing she asked for was bb had to sleep with her at night so that I can rest well. If not why do I need to hire her.

Sim Yee did good job in taking care of the bb. She had no complaints about bb even bb woke up several times for milk or poo. She will only tell you unless you ask her.

However, Sim Yee’s cooking is so so only. She cooks confinement dishes in very traditional way and not much variety. Her “boh bun” all with wine because according to her, wine is best helping the mummy for blood circulation.

Wine in bfast meal, then followed by chicken essence with dome – I was drunk in the morning.
Lunch & dinner were just normal confinement food with wine and ginger.
“Boh Bun” woohoo… with strong wine again. luckily I like drinking, if not really gone case. She will test your wine lever by increasing the amount of wine day by day.

Overall, I consider myself very lucky because both cl are good in their way.
I still keep in touch with both Aunty Susan and Sim Yee, they both are very friendly and nice lady.

If you want good chef and you prefer to take care the bb by yourself most of the time – Aunty Susan – 012-491 8560
If you want good granny taking good care of your bb, and you are not picky about food – Sim Yee – 019-252 1118

I started to find confinement lady right after i got to know that i'm pregnant, as i know this year lots of people are getting pregnant and deliver, so have to faster grab and secure one for myself, since i'm going back to my kampung in perak for confinement, so i get myself one confinement lady in my kampung which i was kinda surprise with the price, it's 3.5k not inclusive of the ang pao, but i think this is kinda common this year for confinement lady' charge, my friend only try to find confinement lady now when she is 6th month preggy, called 4-5 confinement ladies but all fully booked, can ask her to browse through this forum for the contact numbers, haha....

Nowaday all the CL really too much.. my friend going to deliver o June 2012 and told me her CL is charge her RM 3.5k included ang pao.... i faster go and book her... who knows....the CL said oh....EDD is on Dec 2012, need to charge Rm 3.8k included ang pao already.... only few mths diff.... add so much...

anyone know any good CL that is available end of June? abit last minute here i know, i tried to find a few but all fully booked, then i took my time until now really cant wait no more.....

Having problem to find a CL too.. Will due on early Dec. most of the recommended CL already fully booked. Feel kinda hopeless..

I was wondering whether anyone have a CL to recommend to me who doesn't stay over night. I found 1 in Kepong spoken to her CL leader, was told face-to-face its rm1800 doesn't include angpow but after the next day called n tell me the CL requested for RM2500 work from 7am-7pm. Reason was bco she had to drive to myj house!!! Very disappointed.

Pls recommend a CL for me as my EDD is on mid November. I want someone responsible & can really take care of my food n BB.

BAD & UNPROFESSIONAL CONFINEMENT LADY - Fah Jie - DON'T HIRE !

I'm posting this as a warning on confinement lady. I still under confinement and I got one of the most inefficient confinement lady ever.

As I had to give birth prematurely to my baby, my confirmed CL cld not make it until two weeks later as her daughter is getting married this week. So I got a temporary one intro by another confinement lady.

This CL I had, her name is Fah Jie and her contact no. 010-2582177. Please under any circumstances, do not hire her.

On her first day, she put my electric kettle on the stove and of course, it got damaged. She said she was used to stove ones and forgotten about it. (What if she forgotten to test then bath water for baby, my baby could be in danger too)

First day she came at 4pm, already dinner to prepare. I had the same dish of sauce based for that dinner and the next whole day meal (bfast, lunch & dinner). She only cook 3 dishes a day. When asked about the usual 5 meals, she said that during afternoon, she need to take nap as at night tired taking care of baby. But my baby is still in NICU, she don't need to take care yet at all.

The 3 rd day, only I can my tonic for supper. But you know what, she serves it to me during my dinner at 7.30pm, so that she can clean up and get to bed by 9.30pm. She only get up at 7.30am the next day. It has been like this for days. Really got her beauty sleep, whereas we got to be in hospital everyday visiting my baby. We got to sleep at mid nite and up early morning to prepare see baby again.

She never clean up my kitchen until I told her too. Her excuse is that she already I clean but I don't know how she clean coz my kitchen floor look like shit still. Since she is so dirty, I cannot imagine the cleanliness of food that she is preparing for me.

She never do basic household chores, only wash my clothes. Didn't even clean the kitchen utensils properly. She even chipped my bowls which I had more than 8 years of constant using. I donno how she can do it.

Finally, I got the confinement recipe book from my friend and I just tell her what I wanted to eat. But mind you, with recipe book, she is also still a lousy cook.

I'm looking forward to few more days for the actual CL to come, hope this CL will be better for me. Sigh!

Im also looking for CL. EDD is 11 feb 2013 but im guessing im gonna induce birth earlier if doc let.

I stay with my in-laws in Bandar Sg Long Kajang. As my condo have no more space, Im looking for day time CL only. (if not CL no place to sleep) I have my MIL who can do confinement but due to old age/CNY coming Im afraid she gets overwhelmed.

I am now enggaged with a CL that is very very good.

About my CL:
She is an experianced CL and have worked in SG & Malaysia. She is 55 yrs old.
Her confinement cooking is super awesome!
She takes good care of me and baby very well too.
She is very hardworking and support breast feeding.
Everytime I breastfeed my baby she is always there beside me waiting for me to burp my baby constantly.
Thru her actions I can see she loves baby a lot!

Added on October 21, 2012, 7:20 pmBtw, the actual confinement lady came after two weeks replacing the bad CL Fah Jie (who is temporary due to my premature labour).

Her name is Chan Jie. She is of course way better than the bad one I had above.
Her cooking is quite okay, she can be better if she wants to. She had 4 years experience as confinement lady.
Well, at first she seems very helpful and quick to act whenever we needed her service. But after a week, of course we noticed that she started lacking, not as patience, always pin-pointed the negative things about my baby and the way I take care of my baby. She always say baby like got wind, tummy bulging, face yellow, maybe need to bath in yellow herbs, baby is heaty lah, need to be rub with flour. Baby fussy at night, need to say some prayer lah. Phew! A lot of superstitious stuffs and full of negativity, even when not happening. We got our baby to see the pediatric, all seems normal.
Overall, she is fine but you have to keep up or be patience with her antics.

Cooking is good. (Can be better)
She does household chores like cleaning the bathroom, sweeping daily & mopping the floors (2 times a week), wash clothes for me, baby and sometimes my hubby.
She cook for me breakfast, lunch, dinner & tonic after dinner. She cooks for my hubby too. Wakes up at 6.30am and sleep at around 10pm.
We took care and sleep with our own baby, she will help occasionally during feeding when daytime or evening. She will bathe baby and give baby wash up in the evening.
