Hi, I'm new here. any recommendation on how to remove the black/brown algae ? I' have change the water, control the light, but still same result. the algae keep staining the leaves

how to put the soil, how many layer needed? first layer(ground) put what? the surface layer but those power type of soil?

about the soil, for budget just get a 9 liter for 2 feet tank... if you want go for high spec... pm me... i guide you...

Browish is not healthy. Nothing to do with algea
Are you dosing enough co2 and ferts?

i'm using disposable co2 can + diffuser and "root monster" fert (buy at east aqua). im sure it is some kind of algae because if i rub the leaves, the brownish thing will tear off. i have 3 ikan bandaran (otto ?) so far they did good job on "cleaning" whatever suspended on the aqua soil

bandaraya fish is called pleco maa... those clumsy fish not suitable for planted tank la... later they uproot all ur plants...
otocinclus more suitable.... but they eat a little laa... u need to have an army of them only can see the effect...

no, all this is special bacteria combination from ADA. It is highly recommended to put correct combination of them if your tank is new.
All this powders will help grow bacteria faster in your tank.
