Pending their reply right now on the treat miles use for exchange. The annual fee is a definite non-waiveable.
*
Annual fee for the normal maybank world mastercard (without golden lounge privilege - RM 1000) will be waived for expenditure of RM 100k and above in a calendar year.

As for the RM 1500 annual fees with golden lounge privilege, it can be waived if you spend RM 250k or more.

QUOTE(lin00b @ Dec 20 2010, 09:38 AM)
n00b question, why do some people go for high income cards like plat etc? you have to pay annual fees. sure you get some extra benefits, but how much would you have to spend monthly to recoup the annual fees paid?

mind sharing some example where plat and above card is more worth it than the basic free for life card?
*

plat card is no longer can consider as high? sweat.gif but world mc / visa infinite does thumbup.gif

why go for this card? bcoz:
1. we spend more. so want more CL.
2. we want world / infinite privileges such as free access to klia lounge, free coffee, free movie ticket, free golf.
3. we want special price for selected merchant.
4. lastly, we can get it free for life - either with or without condition smile.gif

DA world mc & visa inifinite is free for life without any condition notworthy.gif

you can settle in full and then cancel, I think HSBC got no penalty clause. Call up CS to confirm.

well HSBC do have pretty good promotions and PBB do have good BT plans. But then again you get nothing with HSBC for pumping at Esso.

Go work out out how much you can get in terms of cash rebate from PBB yearly and if it is more than the GST, nothing to loose but more to gain.

how many months remaining in ur hsbc installment?

just go apply pbb esso/mobil coz u always pump at esso/mobil.

for ur hsbc, if remaining balance is more than 1 year, then just swipe 12x/year so no annual fee on next year.

for next year gst,
swipe rm9.5k local (exclude petrol) so can get 9500 points to redeem gst next year, or
enroll in hsbc promo for cashback to cover gst next year, or
get as much rebates from pbb esso/mobil so it can cover the gst for hsbc too

biggrin.gif

my hsbc annivessary is on september. this year i redeem points.
next year, maybe redeem points too, but from september to now i already get rm80 cashback from hsbc smile.gif
