Why shipping so long one? Haih, sad. What time did you place your order?

Looks like I really have a long time to wait. Cantonese: yau pai dang. doh.gif

I ordered mine on the 4th of December. I read in the original XPS thread, someone mentioned that the shipping date is just an estimate, so there's a possibility that I might get it earlier than the 28th. Here's hoping biggrin.gif

Darn. Looks like I seriously have a long wait to go.

Anyway, from what I've read on the Dell site, and from the CC person, the delay was because of the B+RGLED. Maybe since yours is already built, it won't take a long time. I'm expecting pictures from fellow XPS owners biggrin.gif somehow, I can never get tired of staring at pictures of the to-be-new-laptop. LOL.

Unrelated to the topic discussed here, has anybody tried installing Hackintosh on this laptop?

Now I know that Hackintosh is most likely 'pirated' and 'illegal' but some of us DO have original retail DVDs, so I take it as discuss-able. So please don't start trolling around with smart-ass comments, thanks. Serious discussion.

logically speaking, i think it can be installed although no one did it yet. but finding the drivers that are compatible with mac os/snow leopard might be a handful sweat.gif

Its because when you overclock it, the GT420M will constantly run at that speed, without lowering it clocks when idle as it should be, hence the fan sound....

hmm.gif Would you void your warranty by overclocking using evga precision?

1) i7 & nVidia 435M or i5 & nVidia 420M?

An extra RM 500 can get you:

i5-460M to i7-740QM,
nVidia 420M to 435M,
500GB to 640GB storage

Is it worth it? And also, will it consume more battery power? I personally feel that it's a bit of an overkill.

2) 720p screen or 1080p screen?

I've calculated. The 720p screen would give the laptop of about 100 DPI. the 1080p screen would be 140+ DPI. Is the 1080p screen worth the RM 411? And how will the screen affect gaming, and videos?

3) 6 cell battery or 9 cell battery?

More battery power is certainly welcomed, the extra RM 103 shouldn't be stopping it. But the 9 cell gives the laptop an elevation. Good or bad?

4) 4GB, 6GB or 8GB RAM?

I'll be using the laptop for college. I play casual games like FIFA, and maybe some FPS and Warcraft. Am certainly not a hardcore gamer. Please advise.
