If you picked the B+RGLED, there is a shortage. Just contacted them, they told me now it'll take at least 3 weeks to build my system.

Not a prob.

Just a thought, so many people are going with the B+RGLED when they're not going to fully utilize it. I can predict that quite a few are going to come onto this thread to complain that text is 'horribly small' on their LCDs.

And when that happens, I am going to laugh.

IINM 8x is the maximum write speed. There are many reasons why DVDs run slow, one being your DVD is old/faulty/dirty. Try checking your disc first.

I wonder, how come the Blu-Ray drive addon is only RM200+? Shouldn't it be more expensive especially for a laptop?

Price dropping due to demand & supply? No idea, but good point.

I heard that Google Chrome doesn't follow suit and renders text pretty much unreadable (too small).

Ah, I see. I've been stuck with 1200x800 & 1366x768 for quite a while, never experienced Full HD before blush.gif

The 16x 8x is about write speed, IIRC. Fast, but it produces bad quality CDs. I usually burn at 2x or 4x to ensure that the files go in smoothly without getting corrupted.

It doesn't affect read speeds. And even if you have a 24x DVD drive, having a scratched CD will render the speed useless. That's why sometimes CD cannot be read, etc.

While trying to find a solution for my USB mouse which sometimes does not get detected automatically upon boot (I have to unplug and replug it in once Windows has fully started) using the eSata/USB2 port, I came across as option labeled "Virtualization" in the BIOS and it's set to enabled by default.

Anyone knows what is this for?

That's to enable Intel VT (Virtualization Technology)
Only useful if you run virtual machines using VMWare Player or VirtualBox

Hmm.. since we don't use that, wonder if disabling it will improve performance, however little. Anyway, after playing around with BIOS and power options, I still have to reconnect my mouse almost every time. Using the non-eSata/USB 2 ports solves the issue. Looks like I'll have to use one of those ports.
