QUOTE(kebret @ Jul 4 2011, 01:05 PM) ok thanks. i applied a few times already and usually i only receive rejection note. lol err.. how many times did you apply through their site? do they give quick response? i did apply too a week ago but still got no response from them. Btw i'm graduated with Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering. Do you think there will be any chance for me to work in this field? Almost a month and still unemployed...have been sending resume all over the place (o&g, shipping...etc)..still not getting any response. haihz..

Graduating from Curtin Uni soon end of this year, background is mechanical engineering. Fingers crossed & pray that I can find a job in OnG soon!
EDIT: What are the engineering positions in OnG companies that would normally need someone with mechanical engineering background? Kinda confused here.

QUOTE(OMG! @ Jul 9 2011, 10:34 AM) Would like to know whether ALL those who work as a project engineer or staffs mainly involved in technical services in Oil and Gas are all engineering graduates? Actually how many departments are available in an O&G company? Any management training program that accepts graduates like applied sciences(Chemistry or biochemistry) other than engineering graduates? For your first question, i would say its a yes. Engineering is practical science at least to my understanding. Project work requires more practical insight than theoretical knowledge. Countless. Yes. Usually O&G operating companies would love you in their R&D department.

I hv frens worked there before. From what I've been told benefit and remuneration not that impressive however exposure is great depends on which dept u joining. Long term good prospect I would say coz all of my frens which left received various good offers from other co. But if I'm not mistaken they will sent all new staffs (regardless of experience) for training and there are terms & cond for that. Totally depends on what you want to achieve but if u ask me since they called u for intw just give it a try and then evaluate the offer urself. Good luck. QUOTE(jamaluddin4 @ Jul 14 2011, 03:28 PM) With 1 year working experience related to Oil & Gas. Consider fresh i think During mine last time here how it goes; Only one session interview but divided into 3 sub. 1. Usual session about urself/background/ education/experience etc. 2. They will give u one general topic of any global issue for you to elaborate and discuss your point of view on that particular topic. 3. They will give u one specific situation for u to solve. Basically they want to see how u think, react and manage the problem/situation. I'm not totally sure if they have changed the method now but I believed it still remain the same.
