err can't brain my post?
sorry for my english icon_question.gif  doh.gif

my uni sponsor selected student to do the course.. but i can only receive cert for cswip3.0.. 3.1 only for our knowledge and experience... so after this, easier la if i want to take 3.1 cert coz i already know how was the exam..

what the trainer/lecturer told us.. for freshie need 'kabel' to enter O&G.. after that no problem la coz already have experience...

FYI.. need 2yrs experience from 3.0 to go to 3.1...

why dont you just use the anchor wire...opssiiii...

if you good enough, well-prepared for the interview and always pray for it..you will get in..
you also can start from small OnG company and then climb up to BIG one..cheers...

BV is one of the big 5 Classification society, just like LR, DNV, GL, ABS. Historically all started with classifying marine merchant ships way back in the 19th century. Nowadays they cover oil and gas installations such as FSO, FPSO, fixed and floating platforms.

Joining class society companies is prestigious and well respected everywhere internationally.
*
Also if you join them as Surveyor, you will entertaint by the ship owner or shipyard...good pay as well, basic + allowances...
From what I know ABS provides company car to their surveyors + car allowance..NKK also provides company car on you name...coz they all non-profit organization, cannot have asset (from what i know)...In Malaysia, we have SCM (shipping class malaysia)...

Maersk-Drilling looking newly graduates or graduates with 1 or 2 yrs experience for their Trainee Driller Program, Rig Manager Trainee Program and Graduate Program...But not sure whether they take malaysian for their program.

Last 2yrs, my friend was invited for the interview in their office in Singapore and they pay for his travel expenses from KL to Singapore.

thanks, i will give it a try, currently i just get to know few MNC drilling company only

I think my previous company(GLC) is looking for a Trainee Drilling Engineer but not sure whether it is still available or not..and yes, there are few of local drilling contractor companies such as Kencana Petroleum, Sapuracrest, UMW(UMWSD, Petrodrill and UJD), SAAG....

I think Transocean is not recruiting fresh grads for their Trainee Program like before. they just recruit those who have 1 or 2 yrs experience...correct me if i'm wrong...cheers

Sime Darby offloads fabrication assets
Malaysian conglomerate Sime Darby will sell its oil & gas fabrication assets to Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings (MMHE) and Petronas for a combined price of RM 695 million ($229.5 million).
Andrew Hobbs and News Wires 27 May 2011 08:57 GMT
As foreshadowed by Upstream last month, the Pasir Gudang fabrication yard will be sold to MMHE for RM 399, a transaction that will allow MMHE to double its annual tonnage capacity from its current 69,800 tonnes.
Petronas will acquire the Teluk Ramunia fabrication yard for RM 296 million, with both transactions to be completed entirely in cash.
The assets’ combined disposal price is above their RM 641 million book value as it was at 31 March, the company said.
In an announcement, Sime Darby chief executive Bakke Salleh said the decision to dispose of the assets was made following the company’s group portfolio review exercise.
“In order for (Sime Darby) to move up the value chain and enjoy better returns, the Group would need to further commit its financial resources into a business which is no longer in-line with the Group’s strategic direction,” he said.
Salleh instead said the group should focus its resources in areas where it can achieve sector leadership.
The Sime Darby announcement said the assets would be sold as they were, complete with all mobile and immobile plant, with MMHE to offer employment to all employees connected with the yard on mutually agreed terms.
The company would also meet all existing obligations under committed projects and contracts, the announcement said.
Sime Darby had made a commitment to cut non-core assets last year after suffering two consecutive quarters of losses caused by losses at its energy division, Reuters reported.
The company reported a net profit of RM 820.1 million during the third quarter ending in March, compared to a net loss of RM 308.6 million for the same period a year ago.
Results in the year-ago quarter were hit by cost overruns totalling $656 million at Sime's energy unit, which led to intense investor scrutiny and a number of ongoing legal suits, Reuters reported.
"This marked improvement in performance was achieved despite difficult operating conditions,” Salleh said in a statement.
