BRUNEI FOUND NEW OIL FIELD

MIRI: A new oil field estimated to contain several hundred million barrels in reserves has been found about 100km offshore from Brunei, The Brunei Times reported yesterday.

The daily said the discovery was made by Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) which described it as a successful exploration and a significant oil and gas find in its deepwater acreage.

Quoting a BSP statement, it said the field known as Geronggong was in the third acreage area and about 1km deep, the deepest water in which BSP had discovered hydrocarbons in the Brunei acreage.
“The depth is enough to fully submerge the world's tallest building, Dubai's Burj Khalifa, which is 828 m tall,” it added. - Bernama

I'm join OnG as freshie last year...maybe you can try join management trainee or try calling HR and ask whether their company have any suitable position for fresh graduate like u...its really help me a lot when i'm trying to join this field....and again, better if u looking for small2 oil and gas companies..its quite difficult to join main player/operator unless you are scholar them or graduated from oversea...

nothing in my inbox...i'm not that recruitment agent..just share some jobs available with u all here..

that super duper high only for main player/operator like Shell/Exxon/Petronas/SLB/Talisman/Halli....almost all of them required CGPA at least 3.5 and above and also very active in co-co with leadership/communication@PR skills...and pass all 5 stages of interview..from phone interview to technical skills...

but for small2 OnG companies, with CGPA 3.0 is enough i think..u can try apply to OnG Consultants/Fabricator/Service Provider/Vendor and many more..refer to my previous post to check the OnG companies available in Malaysia...

MMCOG is malaysian company..under MMC Berhad...
AMEC is a UK based company...

but, currently, MMCOG formed JV with AMEC and come with MMC-AMEC...same happen like SIME DARBY JV with MUSTANG...RANHILL JV with WORLEYPARSONS formed RANHILL WORLEY...

Most of the times, platforms are design in modules ( these could be segregated by deck level, weight or may be harzadous area classification (based on equipment/piping). The major reason for designing platforms in this way is to ease fabrication & erection. When the various module are then transported to sea for laying/installation, that’s when the word “hookup” comes in play. Similing means connecting the various module together; piping, electrical cables, structure members etc. To achieve this, “pup piece” which can also be referred to as hookup pieces matching the required piping, electrical, structural members etc

Another instance for hookup is connecting piping to equipment, instrument to piping etc. You should have heard of instrument hookup design/drawings.

As an Electrical Engineer..i will answer based on electrical testing and commissioning.. The electrical acceptance testing and commissioning of electric power systems is essential to the start up of any electrical system for the first time, regardless of its size, type or industry. It is a very special occurrence and poses some unique challenges to electrical personnel. So this commissioning will take place after we install the equipment at plaform. And before we start-up and running the equipment, this commissioning must done first.
