May I know what rate are you getting on your v7.2?
*
I get 65Mbps link speed up and down on all my devices when my iPhone is connected and same as yours on my computer if it isn't. I'm sure you are aware your file transfer tests corresponds to a 60~Mbps link speed, right? tongue.gif You will get higher speeds on stock firmware under the same conditions.

Let me try to understand this. Meaning my current house with fixed line + streamyx can install unifi without touching my fixed line + streamyx? Totally separated? If that's the case my house alone will have 7 different2 unifi line lor  sweat.gif . My 3 brothers + 3my cousin + my dad. All of use want our private line as possible. Can it be done?

Imagine if one house with 5 unifi lines. If 20  sweat.gif

Btw Bro, which package should I go for? VIP20?
*
I'm not sure if you can have so many Unifi accounts under one name, but yeah, if you are willing to pay and can afford it, you can get multiple Unifi lines installed to the same house provided there are enough ports on the ONU.

Which package you should go for? If you don't mind paying more than RM1K to TM each month, why not get a couple of VIP20's? rclxms.gif

Actually, the reason I ask such question is to know can it be done. Because my family a bit selfish vmad.gif . Everyone need their own things. That y i need to know whether unifi is a standalone or not. If so, meaning unifi has it own number lor is it?

I will get the max speed as possible. Reason behind it, want to download thing lol tongue.gif

ir not.. just apply another VIP20 and load balance it with a LB-router...

Unifi for landed properties is carried over it's own fibre. Situation is the same as Streamyx for landed properties. You can have multiple copper cables to one landed property with Streamyx service on each as long as you are willing to pay and there are available ports.

You are aware of the upcoming download cap for VIP users, right? If I didn't mind spending that much for internet per month, I would go for 2-3 BIZ10 lines and get a multi-homing router for easy configuration and no caps.

You do know that part of your service fees entitles you to so-called customer support which you can call and ask them, who has access to the system and can open a report for you, rather than us who cannot do anything useful for you?

Is it true that Unifi HyppTV (or whatever it's called) requires HDMI connection to the TV? I'm using CRT TV, does this mean I cannot use HyppTV? I'm considering getting VIP5 (RM149) to replace my 384kbps Streamyx line (RM61) and Astro (RM95).

...btw, any suggestions on what wireless adapter that will work nicely with the wr841N ?
is the wn821n recommended? looking for strong and stable signal. often stream movies in the network..
*
I hardly use USB wifi dongle, I have a Edimax EW-7717Un bought 2 years ago, really strong with good speed!

The WN821N runs on Atheros AR91xx chip, should be able to work well with the 841! nod.gif

i have a question about unifi and torrents.

currently i just have unifi installed at my home.

previously, i paused a download with my bitcomet client while using streamyx.

can i continue downloading with unifi?
*
It SHOULD, bcos it is only a change of IP address and bittorrent is a very robust protocol... smile.gif

Now you should get same upload & download speed...

Nope, you can run on either RCA (yellow, red & white) , composite or HDMI..

But the shows offered cannot be compared to Astro... I only watch CNA ( Continuos Negative News from Singapore ) on Unifi IPTV only..

Your issue is simple, the WAN interface on the TP-Link is not VLAN2.  biggrin.gif  Reset DD-WRT to defaults and look at the current bridging table which should only have one entry. One of the interfaces (ath0 if I remember correctly) will the the WAN interface.
*
You sure? ath0 is not refering to wireless??

In fact, by default, the bridging entry states vlan1 vlan2 and ath0....

Thanks for the reply...

Yes, after doing a factory default reset, I found that at the bridging table, br0 is bridge is to vlan1 and ath0, with STP disabled, and WAN port assignment is set to vlan2 by default...

I have set vlan0 interface as ath0 with id 500, prio 0, after that set WAN port assignment at ath0.500 and unbridged ath0, is that correct?

Can anyone post working settings, sorry, I'm really new to this and hope everyone can help me, I just need this WR1043ND to connect to Unifi...

My WLAN computer isn't my main machine but a quick test showed sustained Windows large file transfer speed of about 20-22Mbps. This is an Aztech N150 USB adapter located ~10m away from the router with a concrete wall in-between running an old copy of Vista. Link speed in Windows varies between 100-120Mbps on TP-Link firmware and steady 65Mbps on DD-WRT firmware. Did not test file transfer when my router was on DD-WRT, didn't use it more than a few hours because I got too irritated by the lags in the UI with DD-WRT.

Will recheck speed this weekend after reinstalling with Windows 7 and a TP-Link adapter.

Vlan1 is the other option, try it also. I got DD-WRT working on my TL-WR841ND using one of them, it should be very similar for the WR1043ND.

If you are following klseet's guide for DIR615, only 2 reboots are necessary when setting up the VLAN part. Wouldn't take you more than half an hour to try all the options in the list. flex.gif

Ok..talking about transfering files between Network, while i always get speed less than 3MB/s?

Sometimes can even slower which is around 1MB/s?

Is it related with network or what?If yes how to improve the speed?

I'm using RT-16N with Tomato Firmware. I can achieved transfer speed around 150-160Mbps~(18-20MB/s) at my wireless laptop from server's 1Gbps LAN.
Sometimes your setting on your WLAN laptop side must be correct, to achieve higher transfer rate. Not just depending on your router itself.

You also need to take note on your WLAN able set under 40Mhz.
