hi guys
im living in amcorp tower, the TM told me because you are living in a commercial building , you can not have VIP packages and you can only apply for business package , but when i am filling the online for there is a section that i need to give my company information which i do not have.

i talk to the operators , they said we are receiving error when we want to apply for you because your building listed as a commercial!
any tips?

thanks

But i thought they said local traffic wont' be capped?? If so, then using a local VPN do help?
*
No, all download traffic local or international will be capped as far as we know.

seet,

on portforwarding, i think it is fine. i can vouch that it is working. using the same steps as well. but on firewall, you might need to wait for other mikrotik sifus to give their feedback.
*
Thx bro, yes the PortForward seem to be ok, just want to re-confirm!

This is not really a good idea, DD-WRT support on TL-WR841ND is currently not really stable and wireless N is limited to 65Mbps only.
...
May I know which version are you using now & what's your wireless setting?
And what do you mean by "N limit to 65Mbps" only?

Anywhere, I tested on the latest r15962 from BrainSlayer:

It show 260Mb/s rate, may be you are referring to the RX Rate which seem to stick at 65M.
However, I can still get actual transfer rate between 5~8MB/s on my laptop connected within same floor at living area:

with this N-only setting:

To me, it's consider not bad for a Atheros7241 below RM90! smile.gif

don't worry, mine too, this tuesday. they called yesterday (saturday) twice. the first time around 3pm while i'm asleep. then on 6pm. just the usual "pre-flight briefing" like you sure you'll be there, is my house under renovation, do not sign the form if not satisfied, etc.

i guess they work 7 days a week due to free installation. it took me 2 weeks form registration to installation.

oh, btw you request for this tuesday, or they set it to this tuesday? i request for last friday, but they set it to this tuesday. you might not get the day you request, so if they didn't set it, you better call them to confirm.
*
wah, mine I online register that time I choose Tuesday...they haven't call yet, so i think can expect delay already sad.gif

Hai guys.

Im still puzzle which package should I go for? Thinking to go for VIP20. But the question now is, I have a phone line + streamyx. I want to install unifi separately. Meaning my family remain using streamyx and I personally using unifi (Same house)

Is it going to be an issue?

Btw, can u disable the wifi function and use cable instead? Hate to go wifi cause people can use up my uniti. Even with password they eble to crack it and get the free wifi. If 30 people use up, there goes my unity speed cry.gif

Hi, anyone got working DD-WRT settings for WR1043ND ver 1.6 from TP-Link?

Tried the whole day without any luck...still no internet from that gateway as I intended to replace DIR-615 with this Gigabit Router WR1043ND...sigh.... icon_question.gif

I tried vlan2 tagging of 500 with prio 0, assigned WAN port to vlan2.500, leaving vlan2 unbridged...but it didn't work...

Should I play around with the MTU? Besides that, I noticed my DIR-615 has a vlan priority of 1, not sure whether it affects the setup....

Anyone running DD-WRT with this machine? Any favor would be nice...thanks...

Here are the screenshots of my settings...please correct my mistakes...new to networking...

Tried same version as you on TL-WR841ND v7.2. Set mine to N only 300Mbps. I believe from your screenshots that you are already familiar with this bug. smile.gif There are enough threads in the DD-WRT forums regarding the support status and this issue there

Your issue is simple, the WAN interface on the TP-Link is not VLAN2. biggrin.gif Reset DD-WRT to defaults and look at the current bridging table which should only have one entry. One of the interfaces (ath0 if I remember correctly) will the the WAN interface.

By house you mean landed properly? Then yes, you can keep your current Streamyx and have Unifi seperate from it. And yes, wifi is easily disabled on DIR615 router.

Good idea... If we use local VPN?? Then we're consuming local traffic to VPN then international traffic from the VPN to server. Right?
*
Good idea, but who can provide Local VPN at an affordable price? Current webhosting is already expensive.. Just take the BIZ5 package to be safe smile.gif

Is it a good time to jump in and get vip5?
I'm currently on a 1.5Mbps/512kbps streamyx line.
Downloads can go up to 120GB+ per month.
With the shenanigans in Canada to charge $2/GB after reaching cap limit, I'm pretty concerned if TMnut getting ideas to do the same.

I'm considering it because of the RM200 free installation.

Should I check streamyx 4Mbps instead?

It will be considered as signing a new contract right? not an upgrade.
When we register online, does that count as signing a contract or just setting up an appointment? So maybe if I need to, I can back out before they install it

@Have_nice_day_guy
try to unbridged both vlan2 & vlan2.500

@charymsylyn
May I know what rate are you getting on your v7.2?

Since it's published officially at dd-wrt and I have no problem getting clean 5~8MB/s rate, I presume it's a good build, at least better than stock with more features to play with!

Few users complained on Huawei HG655a VDSL on frequent disconnect/connect issue, so far seem no complaint on ZTE yet.

Let me try to understand this. Meaning my current house with fixed line + streamyx can install unifi without touching my fixed line + streamyx? Totally separated? If that's the case my house alone will have 7 different2 unifi line lor sweat.gif . My 3 brothers + 3my cousin + my dad. All of use want our private line as possible. Can it be done?

Imagine if one house with 5 unifi lines. If 20 sweat.gif

Btw Bro, which package should I go for? VIP20?
