Just got my Unifi installed today.
Though, I still have my streamyx intact at the moment.

When I connect the LAN cable from the unifi router to my PC, what's the ipAddress needed to configure the connection? Is there one?

Like streamyx uses a router 192.168.1.1;

OMG, I just noticed something. I scheduled the installation appointment for this Tuesday. When do they call up for confirmation? I scared since this Tuesday is holiday.
*
don't worry, mine too, this tuesday. they called yesterday (saturday) twice. the first time around 3pm while i'm asleep. then on 6pm. just the usual "pre-flight briefing" like you sure you'll be there, is my house under renovation, do not sign the form if not satisfied, etc.

i guess they work 7 days a week due to free installation. it took me 2 weeks form registration to installation.

oh, btw you request for this tuesday, or they set it to this tuesday? i request for last friday, but they set it to this tuesday. you might not get the day you request, so if they didn't set it, you better call them to confirm.

Thanks for the guidance bro, may want to test it later on!  biggrin.gif
I think for your case, since you already bought the unit, you may consider:

1. to flash the 841 with dd-wrt, create a vlan.500, create PPPoE and connect to BTU Port1 for internet
2. configure the DIR-615 as bridge mode and connect it to BTU Port2 for IPTV

Once TP-Link resolve the issue on HG855a, then you may flash it back.  smile.gif

This is not really a good idea, DD-WRT support on TL-WR841ND is currently not really stable and wireless N is limited to 65Mbps only.

BT on Unifi has more or less the same throttling as Streamyx. The steps you take for Streamyx to get max speed for BT is the same as for Streamyx. There are more than enough guides on this forum for you to refer.

Perhaps you have a big house? smile.gif My DIR615 had wifi N range of ~15m through several concrete walls.

For the range... I don't really have big hope on the dir-615. luckily i'm using it inside a condo. Just few M range will do. The best thing here is... My old asus G router in my hometown can be used even i walked out of my house compound. Router provided by tm hopeless... I used another wireless modem... widcomm one... The signal is bad even i'm just right downstair with the modem upstair

For now... Sometimes i will dc from the router(dir-615). But it's like... It stops broadcasting, I dced, then it connect back automatically.

For unifi pass and username, you should receive it in an email sent by tm. Else, check the invoice given by the technician. I know there's username on that invoice but not sure about password.

Nvmd, I got it resolved, but was kinda shock when I discovered my available date for installation is earliest by 9th of APRIL?? Another one month plus? Haha! Kinda contemplating whether or not to register.. iskk

Added on February 13, 2011, 10:16 pmHaha, I keep on clicking the Search button and managed to secure an earlier date, which is on 10th of March (though kinda late, but still a better option than earlier given date)

Good idea... If we use local VPN?? Then we're consuming local traffic to VPN then international traffic from the VPN to server. Right?

The proposed FUP is a cap on download traffic. VPN's will not really be useful in such a scenario.

But i thought they said local traffic wont' be capped?? If so, then using a local VPN do help?
