Some people llike me dont have to do any tax filing as our sole income is from a company that send all our info to Iras. We still can log on to update the tax rebate if needed. Else the tax will be deducted from giro. No action from us at all.

E-filing is when you submit your tax return online. Your company submits the equivalent to Malaysia's EA form online and everything gets loaded onto your online tax return. If you have no deductions etc, then all you have to do is logon and press "submit". This is for employers who participate in the Auto Inclusion Scheme (AIS).

I did e-filing for the first 2 years and then they sent me a letter that I was now eligible for No-Filing Service. This means that I don't even have to logon if I have no changes to make to the AIS tax return.

After your tax return is filed, it will be assessed by IRAS and then they will send you (mine is sent to my company) a Tax Assessment which details your tax payable for the year. It will give you a deadline to pay your tax payable.

More than a year huh?? I was thinking of apply with just 6 months!!
At least they reply to u 3 months. If they reply in 6 montsh time, ur one year period stars from there. Too bad have to stay in your company one more year.

Jumping job with EP is also dangerous, cos govt may not approved another EP.

How come your EP has address stated? mine dun have.

I remembered previously in straist times even an expat from German (i think) with PEP also got his PR application rejected.

Exempted from filing?? How is that?Even IF ur low pay and no nid to pay tax, u still need to fill rite?
Does the company here give something like EA forms or summary? or we just manually add up all the gross salary and key in accordingly?

zz.... i really cant stand my company..

when the company register u, i believe there's a residential add or something... i put my aunt's add at 1st then had it changed... but for pr application i use my aunt's add again

company files or something like that... receive a letter that i dont need to file if the company's salary is my only income...

I usually go for sandisk memory since they have been good to me. Kingston not so bad and i've had no exp with transcend.

But 32GB for 90 dollars aint so bad. Got myself a 16GB sandisk at the fair last nite. Damn pack.

Anybody from keppel fels can enlighten as to why keppel hires a person to tell people off that they cant leave the yard area around lunchtime. Yesterday i was held back by some arsehole who didnt give me a clear reason why i have to wait until the siren goes off at around 11.55.

Luckily one of the transocean guys who i was accompanying just told me to f*** off that fella and join him in the van to the head office.

Go thru North Gate. The main gate security guard is very leceh.

Your working in keppel fels right?

Yea, north gate is a much more pleasant affair compared to the front gate.

But the guy who detained me was not the gate security staff but one of your keppel employees who say himself fit to stop everybody who wasnt wearing a keppel uniform from leaving the docks to either the canteen or the security gate. He was standing at the crossroad next to one of the fabrication shops.

I also noticed that in the canteen, WWE is televised during lunch time for some odd reason. Plus i'll upload a pic of Buddha rummaging around for food during lunch time.

Since your boss said it's not an issue, then it's okay.

Oh... just remind him to give you a letter of indemnity should the bank take action against you. Since he says it's okay, he shouldn't mind.

Noted from the list and saw some interesting deductible to ask:

1. Expenses for public transport to work. I suppose its only applicable to taking taxi? Thos taking mrt/bus and pay by ezlink would not have proper receipt iguess.

2. Professional fees -> Do you need to have the original receipt? Cos mine only sent an email confirmation of my payment.

3. Tax rebate. I only saw for YA2009 and YA2011. How bout YA2010?

4. Deductions for life insurance premium. If i pay in RM, what rate do u use to convert?

Would appreciate if you can share your experiences. notworthy.gif

"Examples of wrongful claims: Travelling expenses incurred to and from home and office."

If it's business travel, you would have claimed from your company already.
