QUOTE(ERTHK @ Dec 2 2010, 06:32 PM)
The current Bandwidth "throttling" tactic has to be one of the most "indegenious" idea coming out from TM Streamyx.

It's both naive & stupid at the same time, because they selectively throttle your bandwidth - meaning that u might be okay streaming videos from youtube, but you are in deep trouble trying to download anything from hotfile

You will not notice any difference until u want to get files off international servers, that's when u realize that your line has just been capped from downloading without any prior-notice from 10am in the morning until 2am the next morning.

I'm not going to wake up at 2am just to download a file, Streamyx should ensure guaranteed minimum bandwidth rate for me & not controlling how am I going to do with my provided bandwidth (Mind u though, this will cost TM Streamy a lot of money to upgrade their current system & I don't see that happening in the near future)
*
Ok dupe listen up, TM is doing a "cap" not throttling exercise. They test it in their little "imaginary" testing place and it turned out that its was an imaginary and made up "success" so they've decided to roll it out and test it on the sh*tmyx victims. Turns on their little "imaginary" testing turn out to be wrong and everyone got rape in the butt because the cap system is not "performing as expected", i.e. It's capping everyone with low speeds and not uncapping them, FOREVER... or until 1-3AM.

So now, they're planning to "temporarily" turn it off about Friday or Saturday (this week) and rape us the butt some other time, I suspect next month or sooner so get ready ok? smile.gif

QUOTE(dtdw @ Dec 2 2010, 06:36 PM)
actually in accordance to another topic here. it might be file based throtle.

using speedtest might show it perfectly fine but downloading mp4 for my case is a no no.
*
Nope, its capped based on whatever the F*** TM is sniffing at the office. In other words, the cap is based on.... NOTHING. It's just a cap exercise that FAILED miserably, wasting potentially millions of ringgit which could be spend on buying international bandwidth, but noooooo, let's splurge it on useless tests that could save us pennies now and nill in the future.

Yea I know that much, what I don't is if what they say is true (My area doesn't support 4mb) or if there are fibre optics in the infrastructure as the website isn't as updated as some branches (read a few threads saying tmpoint/agents saying no Unifi but with further investigation Unifi is available)
*
That's exactly what they want u to do for capping us : Upgrade to UNIFI .

So far, the cap did not touch Negeri Sembilan, Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terrengganu today. I wonder why.

Wonder why this is not mentioned in any local media. I think this is quite a serious thing on how they don't respect their customers enough to let them know they are doing this. Their technicians OBVIOUSLY lying about it.

my area got unifi but i refuse to subscribe until they put in black & white, that they will not cap, throttle or do any kind of nonesense that tantamount to sabotage of my internet line.

if you were so gullible to get unifi now like those other simpletons in that other thread, then tm will have succeeded in their con-job and be laughing all the way to the bank with your money.

if they cannot be trusted with streamyx, they cannot be trusted with unifi.

TM - the world leader in cheating customers.
*
Same here! They can't even provide good service to streamyx user, even the 4mpbs one! Now come out this uniFAIL, seriously I don;t dare to subscribe, you know...2 years contract right? (correct me if i;m wrong).

LOL, this time TM's reputation really DROP till the VALLY! SHAME ON YOU TM

Nah, this test is cheaper than buying international bandwidth because something that fails that miserably can only be an "In-house" development project probably under the personal directive from the zam zam kazam himself!... So probably it only cost TM in the range of 3digits, that's why it was only "successful" in their "little imaginary intranet world"! Thus, when they implement it 3 weeks back, they forgot that they did their test on "INTRANET" and now they've practically created the world's LARGEST INTRANET service! thumbup.gif

They're probably used to it!... Where else could you find another ISP the size and capital like TM but provide services like a small time small budget telco?
