Instead of just posting individual's frustration and anger over the recent TM's capping, why not make an effort of posting the related problem here with further details like:

1. The area affected.
2. Time when this problem arise and how long it is affected.
3. The specific IP address that is affected.
4. A set of speed test and ping test results to a consistent set of servers around the world.

Using the above examples as evidence from each affected individuals, any TM Streamyx users that encounters or are also affected by the same problem can use each other's complaints and test related results on the issue as supportive evidence when lodging a complaint to their well acclaimed customer service. This would help everyone as TM's CS would not have any more acentric excuses to give to all the new and existing complainants.

So let's all help each other out since everyone that comes to this section of the forum are looking for ways to solve their problems as well!

I think downgrading defeats the purpose of "not" supporting TM since you will be renewing your contract hence you cant cancel them. Sure you can but you have to pay a fine and thats +1 for TM yet again. I suggest unsubscribing TM's services altogether, that would really be the kick in nut for TMnut's nuts.

But lets face it, what other non-wireless broadband solution is available? As for myself theres no Jaring, Maxis or Time wired in my area so I only have sh*t wireless broadband to look forward to. Gonna say pass.

About the whole street/public protests thing I will say good luck getting spray, beat up and hunted down by the ISA. Democratic country my a**.
*
Mass Streamyx users downgrading will hurt them a bit, FYI, they can't bind you on the terms and conditions that you have to subscribe based on the contract when they as the ISP cannot provide you as the customer with the promised "Services" as proclaimed by their product advertising. Technically speaking you as the consumer have the rights to revert back to your previous or terminate subscription based on their inability to provide as promised.

*
Yes, my fellow streamyx subscriber, you are also affected by the capping. Why not do the online test such as speedtest and capping/throttling test?

Hello everyone! This is the latest reply I got from TM's 2nd Level ATS ("Advanced Technical Support" what a joke!);

TM's ATS: Sir, I'm Bla Bla from TM's ATS calling in regards to your complaint BLA BLA...
Me: Yes, Have you solve my problem yet?
TM's ATS: Sir, We have found your problem to be with the server in JB.. we need to migrate you to another server, is that all right?
Me: What?... Server problem in JB?.. Are you SURE?
TM's ATS: Yes, sir... that's why you need to give us a few days to solve the technical issue
Me: Ok, but let me ask you a few things here regarding to this current issue..
TM's ATS: sure..
Me: Could you explain to me, how does this particular "server" in JB is able to cater the whole country's Streamyx Users?
TM's ATS: No sir, it's not the whole country, only certain states are affected at the moment...
Me: Well, As far as I'm concerned, the whole country is currently affected and I'm surprised that this so called server is also affecting Cyberjaya's Server!
TM's ATS: No no sir, that's because the server is the gateway to Cyberjaya too...
Me: You've gotta kidding me! 1 server handles all these routing?... What do you treat me as?
TM's ATS: Please sir, do understand that we are trying to solve your problem here...
Me: (Laughing) yes, I know but can you guys actually solve the problem or are you guys trying to prolonged the technical assistance issue to a later date? Anyways, How long is this gonna take? 2days? 3Days? or 1 Week?
TM's ATS: Well sir, we will call you again to update you once the migration is completed...
Me: Ok, let's put this plain and simple.... I've just upgraded my 1MB package to your 4MB package recently, And by the time you guys finish with your so called "Migration" process and claim to have solved the issue... I will do the test again and if I find it to be the same, I will revert my current package back to my previous one.. is that all right? I mean there is going to be NO PENALTY on the downgrade back since I did not nor have yet to have my upgraded service to my sactisfaction..
TM's ATS: Sure sir... no problem.. just give us a few days..
Me: All right then, hope to hear from you soon then....
TM's ATS: Sure sir... thank you for your time sir. Have a nice day.
Me: Welcome....(Hang UP)

This is the latest lame excuse from them... doh.gif

if the hard cap is not remove + P2P law is enforced... I won't subscribe to streamyx/unifi anymore... yet I won't download... Pasar Malam now~ I rather go for P1/Maxis/Digi~ HSDPA speed is better as compared to what? 5mb VIP5? since what we can do is only surf the net... what for we want so much bandwidth?  flex.gif

Speaking about improvement... We take 50 years to remain the same as 50 years ago(slight improvement) and Korea took about 20 years and become one of the most advance country of the world...(FYI Seoul is the most advance city in the world now)~ I wonder what more excuss they can give? I still remember 'they' said we can overtake China in year 2028? from what I see... go fly yourself a airplane, and pretend the airplane in the night sky a shooting star~ cause you REALLY need a wish right now... literally right now! whistling.gif

Well, I thought they've already abandoned their initial initiative of "wawasan 2020" and postponed it another 30 years or more?... thumbup.gif

Wrong, Later it's the new STREAMYX INTRANET SERVICE.... there's no more INTERNET SERVICE provided! Then everyone would have to go for Satellite INTERNET Services from foreign ISPs.... just like all those people whose residential compounds are filled with Korean or Chinese made Satellite dishes to watch foreign channels instead of "Local Content" from Malaysia!! rclxms.gif

Thanks, I missed that announcement on the first page

But can someone decode that for me?

At first he say no cap, then he told a long story about fair use, then he say they are having what, a "pilot" to control traffic? So are they capping or not?  unsure.gif
*
Well, to clarify it in layman's term for you, when he says "NO CAP" is that he has written clearly that FUP is his definition for throttling and capping but then again he would not use the word "Capping or CAP nor Throttling or Traffic Shaping". Instead he has chosen to use definitions like "FUP" - Fair Usage Policy and "traffic management".

That's what happens when you put people like this to run corporates or companies that are government linked. tongue.gif

If TELEKOM MALAYSIA has it's turf opened up to competition, it spells the end not only for TM but also the government as they would have a hard time trying to control the freedom of information in this country where things would no longer be within their control. Why do you think they were so bold when they say that they can control illegal downloading of movies and music in the first place? That's because TM is theirs and do you think if there were other players in the field, do you think it would be that easy?.. They rely on monopoly of specific industry to fuel their political gains and power. That's MALAYSIA!.... It's not a communist country, nor is it a democratic country... it's a semi dictatorship country! (You're not far behind IRAN and North Korea!)

NASA? Come one!.... TELEKOM MALAYSIA compared to NASA?...
NASA is 100 times better than TELEKOM MALAYSIA! (They got stuffs that actually works! unlike TM, 99% of their products DO NOT!)

This is their marketing strategy, If they dont manage this, all people happy with ADSL speed and their UNIFI will not sell much.
By do this kind of this eventually  force people like to enjoy to go Unifi since the sales is so poor.

Dont forget what they do at the past on Year 2002.

Raise telephone rental just to buy Celcom.  Sell streamyx and make price up for Dial Up 1515.
*
You have to remember UNIFI is another product from TELEKOM! and it's EXPENSIVE too for the general population! Not surprised if it's sales is slow as TM already has a poor reputation of not being able to provide consumer with reliable service and plus it's dearer than their normal packages, it will not attract that many new or migration of existing subscribers.

To all frustrated Streamyx users,

I have just sent an email to impact@tm.net.my, info@tm.net.my & help@tm.net.my to specifically asked them to forward this email to the CEO of TM, hope he receives my end of the feedbacks that he told the morning radio show that he was willing to receive and review! Hopefully my view to the recent events are also stated here and also hope the general forumers here may also share my similar views.

Dato’ Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa
Managing Director/ Group Chief Executive Officer/ Non-Independent Executive Director
Telekom Malaysia Bhd.

Dear Sir,

RE: PROTEST TO YOUR RECENT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND FAIR USAGE POLICY IMPLEMENTATION

I am writing this in general protest on how you as an Service Provider for the general internet and telephone fix line services in this country. I, as a user have not only experienced how unreliable your telephone and internet services can be over all these years, but also how quite a number of individual complaints were also dragged for months instead of being entertained and serviced within days or weeks.

As a streamyx customer, I have subscribed to your service since early 2003. Over the years, I have seen and experienced that your services for this sector has not only degraded but has been so unreliable due to high congestion rates, problematic ports on your end and trying to put the blame of the faults on general international cables, international servers that could be down or even worst, at most of the times, on your customer's individual hardware or modems!

With these recent events and the way your company decided to use your so called "F.U.P." or Traffic Management as an excuse to not only throttle the speed of all your so called "UNLIMITED" Streamyx customers but also capped them to a range from 1-3Kb (for your 384K, 512K & 1MB Streamyx Package Users) to a max of 65Kb (for your 2MB & 4MB Streamyx Package Users) in terms access to all international links is just too ridiculous to within any reasonable means! How did I know, you may ask?

Well, I was your customer from a 512K to 1MB Streamyx Package user and recently upgraded to your 4MB Package. However I have decide on reverting back to my previous package of 1MB as you are no longer able to provide a decent and honest service to your customer. Why should myself as a customer pay something of a ridiculous price every month just to get a service that I can subscribe for a way cheaper price?, and mind you this is the standard you have recently set for your products and services. I am truly appalled by the way your company advertises claims to strive to be the so called "No.1 Internet Service Provider of Malaysia", especially when I call into your 100 customer service number!

I can also see how you guys managed to post annual profits on the region of RM800 millions via your twitter post. It's no wonder your company make huge profits of that sorts since being TELEKOM MALAYSIA, you not only monopolised the fix line services in malaysia because of the way the company is setup with all the government backings, I doubt you can even reach a TOP TEN placement as a service provider in this country needless to say a reliable telecommunication company of sort. I would also like to point out to you that with such record earnings, why not just make the effort of using the profits to upgrade your Products and Services to your customers instead of blaming it on other things like leasing additional international bandwidth would be very costly to the company and congestion on your internet services! If you cannot afford the increase of additional leases of bandwidth, then don't show off your record earnings on your twits!

If your company is all willing to reinvest your profits instead of being some sort of a greedy business mogul resorting to earning high profits without investing, you would not have this congestion problem in the first place! These congestion is your own making, you encourage people to subscribe to your Streamyx Packages with FREE Gifts and Short Term offers (Inclusive of your recent launch of your so called "UNIFI") thus attracting a lot of new influx of customers, however, you were not willing to upgrade your services to accommodate these increases in your customer base!

I hope I have given you a picture of what your streamyx customer is feeling about your company being the National ISP, Please note that this my comments to your request for feedback from your customers. Also note that I have no other ISP to choose from in my current location thus would have no other choice but to maintain my streamyx account subscription.

Yours Sincerely,
XXXXXXXXXXXX

For those with 2MB or 4MB accounts,

If you are among the the 2MB & 4MB package subscribers and wanted to downgrade your package, now is the time! I was told by the TM staff when I downgraded mine, from 4MB to 1MB, that I have reasonable excuse to do so with the recent capping and back it up with the Report numbers from the complaints that you lodge when calling their TM CS! No penalties for the downgrade as it is their fault according the TMPoint staff, so I signed back to my old 1MB Package again!....

Another TM ploy to force all to upgrade to the capped service...

Not exactly, over on my area there will be no UNIFI probably for another 12-18months but we're still suffering from the their Traffic Management under their FUP! hmm.gif

Our telephone, internet, newspaper, radio, electricity, water, and in the future oxygen, are all government controlled, one way or another. So to them it's always like "watcha gonna do, yeah~". b**** about anything and everything, b**** as loud as we can, they don't care, cuz that's pretty much we can do.
*
That's MALAYSIA! It's no wonder that instead of the initial Vision 2020 it's now set to Vision 2020+3030, need more time!

YEAH! MALAYSIA REALLY CAN "BOLEH", can't they?!

If you all look at reality, the malaysian government has been taking all they can from the people, tax & tax... inflation, prices of commodities goes up! essential items goes up like FUEL and look it's December 2010, so textile and clothing goes UP!, RON 97 Has gone UP again!, Heard Flour is going UP too!... That's how the government works!... They take whatever they can take and then leave you dirt dry till you end being a bankrupt and on to the streets as vagabond!
