Persona is not cheap to maintain. Buy other cheaper makes with higher specs. to suit your budget. B-Line not recommended.

Yes compared to Saga, PE offers better NVH and driving dynamics. Huge car also, go club one time can tapau a lot of chicks back, can also 3p in the rear seat. I also have surveyed new and 2nd hand cars in the 50k range b4.. Criterias are it must not be too old. Reasonable comfort. Cheap spare parts and maintenance. Low FC (proton phail), good resale value, reasonable overall cost of ownership (car price, interest, FC, service cost, modding cost, design and size)
1) 2nd hand sentra N16 - nah, i ady have one sentra at home and sentra's interior looks dated.
2) 1st gen vios. Slightly more than 50k due to higher demand. My cousin bro have one and it has been giving lots of trouble 3yrs into his ownership and the car quality deteriorates too fast.
3) E36 BMW - Spare parts can kill you.
4) Myvi - There are more Myvi than rubbish on Msian roads and Myvi is due for a facelift next year. No boot, not really low FC, way to overpriced for its quality.
5) Wira 2nd hand - Looks nice but its too old lah...
6) Persona 1st gen - PE looks way better.

Thats all i can think about for now lah.. Still PE FTW,

humm the main reason why i chose B line over M or H line is because, i am not willing to spend more for a damn local car. No doubt that Persona is a good car though. But as long as the car is stuck with a damn local made logo brand....... no thanks Think of it, cars in this damn country is so damn overpriced. Even the damn local cars are damn f***ing overpriced.

Built QC also quite good for this price range.
Of course be smart and do not get cheated by SC by letting them throwing at you all sorts of nonsense add ons to ur car during service.

Changing engine oil, ATF, radiator coolant, brake oil according to mileage based on the service booklet..... no need to follow SC's requirements (They are there to suck your money). And 10k oil change interval under warranty is quite low cost of maintenance already.

hmmm, it is very obvious that 25yrs, proton still cant compete with other carmakers internationally. proton starts from rebadging mitsubishi cars, cut ties with them, shake lotus' nut, then come back kiss mitsubishi ass no offense, we NEVER had our 1st national car in 1985, the year i was born.(this is how pride can blinded our reality).
the reasons stems from the protectionism from the government, that it still maintain the car price advantage.
of course the emergence of perodua put proton head to head with it, putting proton somewhat in carmaker competition race. too bad, protectionism kicks in again, perodua can never make sedan as it only for proton. but so what? myvi a subcompact hatchback car that cant even have sex in the car, but still that car is the best selling car!

regarding overprice, i cant agree more than you. malaysia as a country that produce their own car, shouldnt bear the name like 2nd highest in the world in car price. if honda city removed import duty, it would be almost same price as proton saga(shame on you), if vios doesnt imposed on import duty, cheaper than viva( ). a friend of mine who lived in america for 10 yrs before, he said, if you can afford toyota camry 2.4v in malaysia, you can afford ferrari in america( )

The real difference is if we are able to turn our voice into action.. Change the government. I nvr say BN is bad, neither do i say PKR is good. We must let our voice and power be heard. Let them know that they wont have a nice A/C room to sit in if they ignore our voice. Everybody u see around complaints bout this and that.. But ask them to go vote, they say its a waste of time lah.. Same results every year lah.. Corruption lah... They will change the vote later lah... Blah blah blah... Its not about the car price whether its cheap or not cheap.. Its the regulation and the way they tax our car.. If we were to enforce stricter regulation on emission standards like Europe, our cars wont just be cheaper, but much more efficient and environmental friendly too.. Any car maker can bring in a cheap car, but u must know our country is here to survive beyond 2020, more like till the end of time (2012 ) We must look at everything as a whole.. How our future generation are going to survive.. how clean and fresh the air is.. Just look at singapore.. They are able to create a clean environment with good quality air and a lot of trees.. Look at Putrajaya, we have more land than Singapork but we have recorded a higher avg temp over there due to poor landscaping and the lack of trees. Thus causing more electric to be used for A/C blah blah blah..

Do we really want a 100storey tower? Do we need one?? Yeah we MAY need it.. Its good for country long term development, but the real important issues to be settled are the problems we are having now, not the problems we are going to have in the future. Traffic jams in KL, low grade petrol and diesel quality, no minimum standards for cars (airbag etc).. They think every ppl are born to drive isit?? See how many ppl in msia sucks at driving, inconsiderate bastards that dont even bother signalling and hogging fast lane.. Gomen always try to reduce our speed limit, saying speed kills etc etc.. But what really kills ppl is the lack of skills in driving.. If speed kills, why a F1 or rally driver doesnt die? Its the skills they have that allows them to remain in control. The unskilled drivers on the road are what causes MOST of the accidents. Other people have to be aware of these people on the roads. And those ah bengs on the road.. Want to potong here and there but causing unnecessary braking and avoidance to other drivers. I dont mind if u speed and swish around the whole highway, as long as u dont interrupt other ppls driving pace and dont create unnecessary trouble for other people.. Then go ahead. I support u.
