Yeah, well, you can try finding a decent 24" IPS monitor before the U2311H came out. And even then, I wasn't pleased that the U2311H was only 1080 pixels tall.

As for pictures, there's really not much to see.

Edit: Resized image to 1600x1200.
Thanks for the information. Where's Yamiya and roughly how much should I expect to fork out for a single monitor or dual monitor? And what third party software did you used?
*
Yamiya is an online shop for photography thingy, so they do sell those calibrators. You can visit at yamiya.com.my

Dual monitor setup capable Spyder cost about RM7xx if not mistaken, I don't remember the exact value.

I am using Coloreyes Display Pro, its a third party program but able to use Spyder3Express puck for the calibrations.

For those looking at buying affordable calibration kit to calibrate their IPS, here you go, credit to celciuz for the site.

http://yamiya.com.my/store/home.php?cat=336

Go for Spyder3EXPRESS for single monitor, Spyder3ELITE for multi-monitor, if you have extra cash then Spyder3STUDIO.

Unfortunately for me, there were no additional discounts at that time, I paid RM1,699.

A question for U2412M owners. Do you have 1:1 display mode?

mine 16:10, 4:3, 5:4

Thanks for the information. I've been poring over the product reviews for the last hour or so. I'd rather not fork out the money for the Spyder3ELITE, as it is more expensive than a U2311H and almost the price of a U2412M, but I also would love to have detailed colorimetry graphs.

Do you happen to know if your Coloreyes Display Pro can also do statistics?

OLED is a whole different type altogether,it's not a TN/IPS/VA anymore and it doesn't use a backlight as the OLED itself lights up.

No really, I was waiting for a review on this U2412M since it was launch, but I guess what tip the scales is the further discount of RM100.

BTW anybody knows how long this further discount of RM100 offer going to be? hmm.gif

The additional RM100 discount ends Thursday August 18, 2011. You have until the end of that day to get that discount.

I definitely forgot that! That's why it's so thin, the pixels illuminate themselves biggrin.gif

Haha thanks for clarifying!

Well, the good example would be the Samsung Galaxy series, those are using OLED, contrast and brightness is almost on par or better than IPS (not so sure about colors though) and the black level? LOL.. 0cd/m2 since it emit nothing at all.

Around RM900 and above. The spec is more or less the same with U2412M.

My U2412M is arriving today! Can't wait to unbox it.
