I prefer newbies to worry how to use the equipment and learn to overcome the limitations rather than whether or not the equipment performs. Every lens have their own characteristics, and it's not about whether or not it's quality is good or not.

yep for me photography is about seizing the moment. I love watching how people react with their natural expression. Most prefer they pose themselves because if I were to make them pose for me... seems abit awkward unless they are comfortable with it brows.gif

I would try to grab as much opportunity as possible to take photos, can't grab much experience at home. Yeah, human subjects always make a photo very interesting and livelier.

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Nov 20 2010, 04:57 PM)
cik_tak, for a kit lens with that price I would rate it very good. I've used canon's 18-55mm and I feel nikon's 18-55 is better. And please don't go compare a 1.9k tamron 1750 with nikon 1855VR, it's not fair.
You pay what you get, I didn't say 18-55 is better than 18-70 or the expensive 16-85, but 18-55 is not something so bad that we would call it CRAP. Crap = USELESS, no value at all.
I've captured lots of photos using the 18-55 NON VR before, and it's not crap either.

The lens quality not as good as 1870.. If u wanna cheap lens u better go for 50mm 1.8 .. The focusing grip not as good as 1870 ... Color not gud enuf .. Low light even worse .. And 1 more y u need VR on 1855 .. R ur hand shaking .. Damn weird

Pointless argue with you. You just don't get it.

Stop arguing about this crap and that crap people. Expensive lenses do not guarantee a good picture if the photographer is a crap. Mastering your metering and using available lighting are what I learn from my fellow photographer friends.

18-55 isn't CRAP, the person call it, is !
Comparing 300bucks kit lens with 18-70 which retail at 1.1k ?
Pointless comparison.

Lazy to 'korek' my old dvd. They are among my first subject for wedding shooting. I know nothing at that time. Just want to post my pic about kitlens and available lighting.

Thanks KTCY.

Woah the sharpness of Canon 35mm f1.4 drool.gif

Is the Nikkor 24-70 as sharp as that? I know can't compare primes to zooms but the 24-70 is a really sharp lens hmm.gif
