I use simota. claims to be on par with K&N. material seems the same to me. maybe others can comment also. use it for my satria which will soon gonna be trade-in for Inspira  brows.gif .

K&N around 240. i get simota only 150. and it's not even bulk order.  biggrin.gif.

1 more thing. my car gets better pick-up but more roaring effect ... shocking.gif

use simota also.. no need oiling like K&N..
just wash with soap and running water every 5k.

K&N filter uses wire mesh with filtering oil, not cotton. It is washable, but need to re-oil back after washing. Cleaning kit is about RM70 or you can go to Speedworks for service (less than RM10). AFAIK, the best filtering is still the stock ones, but the air restriction is the worst. For best deals on K&N, try searching for Kangyoon at Automotive Garage subforum.

bro, i think not necessary to change it every time you service your car...Try to be nice with the service guys, they usually understand that we are trying to give the best for our cars...that's what i'm practising...

Ok I cannot tahan so I called the customer service hotline, he ask me to wait until Dec 15 (final deadline for those who booked at soft launch) before we can inform and fax our vehicle sale order to the HQ to expedite the delivery of the cars, he also said delivery started but very limited numbers. So, nothing we can do, wait only.

thats the safest practise...if im not mistaken, stock air filter are replaced every 20000km..personal experience, last time round the SC fella gonna throw away my K&N drop-in filter for it to be replaced during periodically service..lucky i was there & ask the guy to put it back in & not charge me for the stock airfilter replacement because i dont want it anyway..

in this way,i agreed to your experience as we has to consider which sc & who is the guy handle's our car....better if you know them so that you can "deal" before

servicing your car...no matter what you do...

wah... this inspira topic is very hot... inspira has so many fans... within a day 10 pahes already rclxms.gif

for me, I'll not use K&N filter or whatever performance part for the engine... I'll maintain stock engine and will use V-power and fully syn engine oil for performance... biggrin.gif
performance parts not always good unless you want to race the car... Stock air filter already the best designed for the car to trap tiny dust. imagine if the dust is not properly filtered and it goes inside the engine... better replace stock air filter regularly than servicing the K&N filter because we dont know if there is any tiny hole becomes bigger and bigger everytime we service it.
just my personal opinion only... up to you to decide for your car. smile.gif

to get cheap air filter, buy it from spare part shop... and do the servicing at dealer service center because some dealer allows us to bring our own parts and oil. I've pactice this for my waja 1.8... which oil filter cost RM68 at proton and RM30 at spare part shop... timing kit cost 1.5K at proton and 500 at spare part shop... all parts original renault parts... imagine how much can you save... rolleyes.gif

sweat.gif
