According to my SA, Proton is offering WARRANTY for 1st 3 years or 100,000km. So if you were to opt for the EWP just add another 0.2% and you get additional 2 years, so total will be 5 years or XXX (I am not sure how many KM extra). So yes, you get 5 years in total. The con side of it you basically cannot skip the scheduled service and service must be recorded each time and be performed in SC only. Outside workshop does not count and if you have claims you need to submit and wait for approval or else you pay 1st then hope can claim the full amount later. For me 3 years of going to SC is more than enough.

Cost wise its okay for me too, I nearly wanted it. I decided against it when the thought of making appointments for servicing (as I like to go for servicing at my own leisure) and the insecure feeling of not knowing who will be playing around with your car for 3 years is bad enough, would be unthinkable for me to pay additional for another 2 more years in SC.

That word should be banned.
The CVT is really smooth thus you may feel the rubber band effect. But like you said, turn on the sport mode then you can really feel the power immediately. Its not that lacking in terms of power. Just when you need the power, turn it on. Good to have and not necessary you need it every time. Give cash also don't want to sell it to you? Wonder why must take loan. QUOTE(RahXeph0n @ Nov 17 2010, 12:45 AM) Thanks for staying level headed. You have my respect. But can everyone stop this "butthurt" word? LOL. Can't you say dissapointed, or sad, or angry or furious peeved or livid or whatever else you can think of. "butthurt" implies one gets raped from behind, and even if you don't mean to degrade anyone, by using the word, you already did. Anyway, I think it would be cool if someone could compare the 2.0 Inspira to the 2.0 Sylphy. The Sylphy's CVT is really really excellent. I feel nothing of the "rubber band" effect some people relate to CVTs. Engage the sport mode, and it can really run! Tap the accelerator and it responds almost immediately. BTW, there's a possibility my manual can arrive next week |

Agreed. If Proton wanted to just do a plain re-badge they would have not gone through the trouble to re-engineered the whole suspension system, so a difference on the setup would be expected as well. I will take Inspira as the way it is now, no complaints.

IF it was a campro engine I wouldn't have opt for this car too. But since its based on a proven car and Proton done some minor adjustments then its acceptable to go for this car at this price regardless what people have to say about Proton.

Does anyone have a list of things that we can or cannot do to the car while its still under warranty? I find too many little things like, changing the rims and HU may void the warranty?? Is it true? If I add my own custom alarm system will that be ok? So the question and situation is endless. Hope someone can clarify for me.
I asked my SA that if I do my own automatic central locking will that void, he just said "if simple wiring stuff oklah," So is that ok or not. Too subjective. |

I think its only fair you drive an Inspira up the same way you did with your Lancer and let us know which feels better for you. If the genting road is totally cleared then you can compare the timing but as you know you get stuck by *ahem* drivers and buses most of the times, so I think the timing will vary according to traffic condition plus the weather plays a part too.
QUOTE(rewlie @ Nov 18 2010, 12:25 AM) What are they trying to say, both has it's own character, we wont know unless one of you do the hardcore test drive later on that will reveal the car true capability, body roll, grip, handling, braking, oversteer or understeer, pickup, perhaps Genting? I managed to clock 14 minutes from exit of Genting Sepah highway up to Genting Theme Park hotel, test drive conducted like a rally style with co-driver beside me to direct on navigation, i just pedal and drive only, this is on stock standard Lancer, so would like to know your guys record soon. |

It's something nice to have but not necessary. I would rather have a car that drives well, comfortable, good reliability and safety protection for the passengers over those can do without accessories like push start button & folding side mirrors.

I would advice you to buy a new HU without the navigator & get a portable GPS unit instead. Imagine having to look at the HU located on the center of the dashboard while trying to drive and make sense of it all? Its tough and dangerous to me. With the portable GPS you can located it right in front of you and your head dont need to turn to view the navigation directions. Plus if you change or drive another car, you can bring together with you.

Didn't know you got your car, sorry about that. Just wondering did you get your car on the official launch or they have already started to deliver the cars to buyers already? Appreciate the feedback.

Your name should be added to the list of owners, thank you for the feedback. Your car model is?
Its very unprofessional to use your car as a test drive unit especially with left over food inside, they think its a cinema? |

Agree with you. In order to change, the people at the grassroots needs to change first. After driven the test drive unit, I also feel this is the best Proton ever. I hope after this they will strive to do better in future cars.

Talking about mileage, what would be the acceptable standard for a new car mileage?
