I think among all proton model, Inspira is model like copying machine.  Perdana can't compare with it.
So, it couldn't have same fate at all.
*
FYI - Perdana was a copy cat of Mitsu Eterna

Got the 1st batch Inspira ? - congrats man

I am worried for the later batches, where more local content are taking place .... then we see lower quality parts thou it look the same because the supply chain have to go through so many filter (under table) ... Proton really need to bring back more confidence in this area, so far so good saw some improvements, maybe more transparency is involve .... I am still speculating

I respect Korean and Japs alot their national car is their pride ... unlike Malaysian quite a number of proton driver have to get proton because no other choice, national pride still isn't high.... by the way after so many years still copying hard to be proud also rite .... I tot there's change when Gen2 & Exora was launch

How many % Perdana copy Eterna ?

Honestly speaking, I buy Inspira because of copying Lancer, include those parts.

resale value is important when it is time to get another car..ask past hyundai and kia owners. smile.gif

my point is no matter how high/low resale value is, at the end of the day depend on ur bank account whether you can afford to buy another car. T/H/N car maybe have good resale value and may give you extra money like 20K maybe, but if i dont like the T/H/N driving experience, extra money for after 3-5 years sell it just won't enough compensate my mentally tortured by T/H/N car IF i don't like. Buying a car is not investment anyway.

the resale value isnt cash? u gotta be kidding me. if the resale value is crap, dont u need to top up from the bank account? and if the resale is good, the amount of cash to top up would be less.

buying car is not an investment, but dont forget that over time, u have to change that car as well and that is where resale value comes into play, especially the sky high price of cars in malaysia

As far as I know at least the engine and gallant platform but what's the % must ask Perdana enthusiat or Proton insider they have a better idea

as for your Inspira I suppose the obvious change is the RIM very likely from JRD ? you can check even it is so call CBU or 95% local content for 1st batch RIMS are most likely changed

yea, resale value is cash. but buying a car for me important is u must like it. If u buy a particular car u dont like but only because of resale value high, then what's the purpose of enjoying life?? only become money servant only.

I not defending Kia as a whole , for me I place car features more priority over 2nd hand value , booking was made was because good review globally especially SG and European both are fussy ppl's market....

As I say there are ppl buying car not depending on resell value alone - I would have gotten City instead, and Korean was never having GREAT RESELL same goes to Proton PERDANA, WAJA 1.8, TIARA ... -> good resell?

Good resell for Proton were Wira & Saga , so not all proton have good resell after all

FORTE was given a chance due to the review globally, and how well they bounce back during recent years eating up the Jap market Globally

I once had a Perdana and the resell wasn't good as well, lucky it was the first batch not the V6 else really dunno how to sell, My mom is having a Waja tiny bit here and there but so far is a good car for town drive cruising on highway but lousy over taking responds are weak

If you think I am bashing proton, I suggest you read through my opinions, I am providing my opinion on how I rate in between Kia Forte vs Proton Inspira

There's so many consideration to take into not just resell when getting a car at this range, prioritize it then you'll know what car suite you most:
- Driving Style
- Family or Individual car
- Car modification ability
- Engine Power & Pick Up
- City vs Highway %
- Safety Features -> crash rating, airbags , TSC etc
- Boot Space
- Passenger Space
- Resell Value
- Period of use
- Gadgets -> GPS, CD changer, Anti Glare Mirror, auto-fold, Push Start etc
- Distributor or Manufacturer's reputation
* I have given my opinion on the item above
*
nice info here... totally agree with your opinion smile.gif
resell value is not the only factor we should consider when buying a car... there are various things depending on your what you want/expect from a car icon_rolleyes.gif
some ppl really look into this, but some ppl that thing doesnt matter... hmmm... from what i can see main setback for forte just ppl worried of its resell value which for me no big deal whistling.gif

as long as you happy with your money spent over your driving experience... thumbup.gif

when its time to change your car - resale value will be important to you like it or not, i am not referring to those with unlimited supply of moolahs that buys ferraris & M6 for fun without considering the resale value, those average joes like myself with a family need to consider cash factor as priority no 1, my inspira paddle shift was never even used once to date and i would gladly take any cash savings if i can choose not to have this feature, another reason why i chose inspira as i get a value for money lancer, 2.0 MIVEC engine with a local brand - i love every single moment i had with the car,i am one happy inspira owner

Guys vote been casted and Inspira AKA Walan AKA Lanja is clearly the winner minus a few hardcore Forte supporter that tend to continue this discussion further than it have to. Pls just accept the fact that more people choose Inspira and this thread should end long time ago. My guess main reason for Inspira to win? More sporty look and long-time in da market liao. Forte? Very uncle look la + KIA tag(Habih lo) Even the logo is ugly lo. If i got Forte, 1st thing i change is the logo smile.gif

I regret have a Livina(even the name is my wife's).... Just too much of problems slowly surfacing out... Worst than Proton.... If looking for quality cars, European still the best(excepth Merc and BMW), follow by Korean, T/H/N is quite on par with Proton. If were to reflect on steps where 1 is best, 10 worst, T/H/N will be 8,9 while Proton 10.

Nowaday, Malaysia ppl getting rich.. probably, can you just borrow me 1k?? Just 1K !! (just kidding)

Friend, If just assume you take max of 9 years loan still 10k remain at time you sell the car, and if your resale value, let say 9k, which lower then your remaining loan to bank, you need to fork out money from bank account to pay bank loan for the remaining of additional 1k. You aware that?? Don't ever think about top up from selling car ..

FYI, I am not brand supporter. But, I am just try not to be enemy to my $$

IF you do not know, pls don't quote it is same. Copying machine have difference quality also. Previous model is develop model reference from existing Mitsubishi Platform. Now, it is just a re-badge !! Copy from Lancer Engine, Gearbox until RIGID body, even the ECU is not allow to change. If copying is not that identical from Lancer, Mitsubishi will not stop them to export it to certain country.

I just only know one facts from the car with me on hand now: I hardly found any NON MITSUBISHI PART from this car (of cause from the part I can see using my eye) !!! So, I can't see much difference from Mitsubishi Lancer.

If change the RIM, then ??? it is just car accessory. Some lancer also change from stock RIM to others?? so? They are not lancer??? Some change from leather seat to Recaro, so they are not Lancer also ? they are not CBU ?

I mention before, Inspira is CKD of Lancer, NOT CBU (I hope it will be CBU but most likely not)

some people buy cars and use it as a stepping stone... myself the same... i'm planning to get a Vios just because of it's resale... maybe i'll be having nightmares with driving experience for the next 3-5 years but the thought of my next upgrade is a golf GTI... 3-5 years isn't that long... and it's a worthy sacrifice, call me dumb tongue.gif

I think resale value only kicks in when comparing to the car u like. I mean u really enjoy driving anyone of them using their pros and absorbing watever their cons is.
