QUOTE(protondriver @ Jan 23 2011, 10:42 PM) I know it is just re-badge of Mitsubishi Lancer. That why I say, I wanted to benefit from the tax I paid before. Now, I can avoid tax to get Lancer, why not?? So, why I need to bet to buy Forte that resale value still uncertain with very bad Korean car history record, since that I have very good choice (Inspira) to choose now ?? Bro you driving a 1.8 or 2.0? The 1.8 seems to be sucky leh. It's like a basic empty box at least forte got the important feature like eco drive and cruise control. haha but still i think the part which concern us most is the service. Naza/Kia service centres are really limited unlike proton but still both of em are no where compared to Hyundai/Toyota/Honda.

Mine is 2.0. The price between 1.8 and 2.0 is not much, that's why I choose 2.0.
I agreed with you on SC. If I don't like proton, I can go Mitsubishi,EON etc. At least I got way out.

Buy the car you like the most + best fit to your wallet and need + within your "expectation" of value for $$$. This post has been edited by SteadyPana: Jan 23 2011, 11:33 PM

Value for money is a subjective term...some said paying 90k money to buy a great full spec car but no resale velue is value for money for them, some say 90k and got japan tech ..n normal resale value is value for money, some say got car cbu without excais n import tax is value for moneyyy

QUOTE(protondriver @ Jan 23 2011, 10:52 PM) Nobody will know forte resale value, but, for me, I will not use my hard earn money to wait for the day to come....since it has so many bad record. This is nothing about "non substantial claims". It is about your own choice wanted to bet for this or not. Nothing right or wrong.Same goes to what you're implying to Kia Forte, there's nothing right or wrong but looks like you're not practicing what you just preached here.

EON service Mit Lancer, now service Lancer CKD, Inspira. You like it or not, the fact of Mit and Proton relationship is : One willing to buy, One willing to sell, end up both earn money and live happily.

Forte vs Inspira .... close fight
Hope proton really look into the quality when localizing especially after the first batch (rumor to be 90% fully imported) are done with.
Naza Kia , they have to really prove themself here , Forte is a great car getting alot of awards, alot of eyes are watching.
I don't like the feeling of 2.0 Inspira having a close price to 2.0 FORTE , as far as we know Proton is a manufacturer while Naza is just an assembler, Inspira should be place at a cheaper price bracket and further more Inspira is having lesser useful acessories compare to FORTE eg Full air-Bag , Corner break assist etc...
On the electronic acessories point of view, I don't have high confidence in both Naza and Proton, one is inexperience while another gives bad experience so for this point nothing much to argue both arn't good in the league to compete. And I doubt proton is good in diagnosing electrical related issues , on the other hand never did heard Lancer have serious electronics related problem so assuming the works of ECU , harness and gadgets are good to sustain till EOL.
Inspira expected to sell like hot cakes just like Wira , most likely 2nd hand value would be quite good . As long they don't end up like fail models: perdana, Waja 1.8 , Putra (quite a good one in my opinion but dunno why discontinue).
As for FORTE they need to keep up and brush up the customer service and ensure quality before handling to customer , attend to manufacturing defects ASAP !! 2nd hand value unknown, most of FORTE owner like the car and feature which over rule the 2nd value. assembling have lesser issues to look into especially when the whole chain start from Supply Chain Management and Quality Control
If I am in TS's shoe I will test drive both car till mad before placing order.

are you sure mitsubishi will 'service' your car? I don't think they will touch inspira. QUOTE(protondriver @ Jan 23 2011, 10:57 PM) Mine is 2.0. If you think naza sc sucks, then you haven't been to proton sc yet. they cant even service a savvy properly (use the wrong AMT fluid, and this is already a well known problem, but they still use el-cheapo oil!), imagine what they will do to your inspira!

Bro Kia/Naza worst la you can hardly book an appointment for your car to be serviced. You have to book for an appointment 2 - 3 weeks and you are not too sure whether you are available on that day.

I want to make one thing clear before you Proton Warriors get out of hand.
The one thing that nobody can deny about Proton is that there's hardly any dignity or the wow factor.
In a simple analogy, "you're driving a proton ar?"
Yes that kind of treatment. A kind of sarcastic remark. You get it all the time. Otherwise you're in denial, living under a false enclosed security you built for yourself.
Now Inspira might be different because essentially it's NOT a proton product. It's NEVER a proton product. So to use Inspira to say Proton have improved an understatement and a gross error.
To use it and say it's a close fight or on par or better with other cars is an understatement and a gross error also.
Even when the moment it's parts are locally sourced does NOT make it a Proton either.
So to all the Proton Warriors, get your facts right before coming in here thinking you have something worth for a comparison with Kia Forte.
FYI I'm not a Kia Fan neither am I affiliate to them.
