In fact, both are good cars ! However, it is true also Naza and Proton have almost same quality of service center. Both are not good indeed.  For me, I opt for Inspira.  I think if any problem and Proton cannot solve it, at least I can find for Mitsubishi SC and I have peace of mind.

For forte, there are too much of electronic stuff, I think Naza (at least for now) still have of good technician to solve it.

For resell value, not one can predict Forte, but, previous resell value of Korean car is terrible bad.

Just find a good service center. I found 1 good eon service center and 1 good proton service center.

Willing to listen, maximum number of times i have to take back is 2 times on 1-2 occasions.

i was refering to kevin23, not you
cause kevin23 and me had been the 'actors' of this 'show'....
as i retired as an 'actor' in this 'show',
left kevin23 alone to act and perform his 'masterpieces'

Im neither a fan of Kia or Proton cars as ive had bad experiences with both of them. But if im considering between these 2 cars i would choose the Forte over the Inspira because of these reasons:

1) Inspira only has basic ABS and EBD unlike the Forte which comes with Traction Control and ESP. Forte also has more airbags.
2) Leather seats in Inspira do not feel like Nappa leather. Seems that some areas are Nappa while certain areas feel just like normal imitation leather. Can someone do the fire test and confirm this?
3) CD player in the Inspira is very backward and cheapo looking. Feels totally out of place with a 2010 model car.
4) Something really feels weird with the doors. The Lancer feels more solid while the Inspira sounds very hollow. Some modifications has been done on the doors for sure which Proton is not telling us about. If they can hide this then what else are they hiding?
5) The Inspira has a CVT gearbox. Does Proton have the expertise to maintain or repair this type of gearbox should any problem arise?
6) Much higher interest rate by Proton.
7) Inspira may seem a better buy if compared to the original price of the Lancer. But in terms of dollar for dollar, a RM92K pricetag for a 2.0L with only ABS, EBD, 2 airbags, cheapo CD player and hollow doors does seem a bit high.

Im not being biased here. I dislike and like both brands for various reasons. But for the reasons above i would prefer to go with the Kia Forte.

Kia Forte was the winner of the inaugural People's Choice 2010 award, which was based on votes garnered at the recent New Straits Times/Maybank COTY2U CARnival 2010 at the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

Congratulations Forte!

LOL you guys still discussing about the crappy Forte?

Cant understand why you like Forte so much.

Oh,anyway just to let you guys know.Up to you to believe me or not.My frens 6 month Forte 1.6 now has some squeaking sound coming from absorber when go over bumps and when he turns his steering to the right.

Typical Korean quality.

Nice when New,Rubbish when OLD.

For Korean cars,OLD = 6 months!

Oh well, their parts all dont last long.My company deals with Korean medical equipment. My goodness, the reliability is horrible. So many breakdowns,so many hardware failure.I dont know why I am still in this company.

Obtw, this will be my last post here.

Have fun with your Korean Junk!

With all the buzz about Car of the Year Award, and with so many organization in Malaysia alone, not to mention also the world is having it's own COTY and all has different cars as COTY, so how accurate is all these? I am asking because I never really understood who is the judge, how they measure each car and what do they look for? Are all COTY the same or some are considered the best among all?

aiyo....kevin, not all cars are 100% perfect la....
there's nothing perfect in this world...
i can say, ur NHC soon also will face defects....juz a matter of time...
nth can tahan lama 1....
some might be unlucky get manufactured defect vehicles...
some might be lucky get a very good condition new vehicles....

this is tengok luck 1...
not to say, also see how a driver drives...if some1 wan follow bunta/tohai drive in initial D(use longkang corner 1...light weight shifting) xD, sure absorber or suspension kong 1...
or mayb hit too much speed bumps or potholes.....see hw he drive la...
cnt say all time, Forte fault here and there...
u try urself speed over speed bumps and potholes and see....like for few weeks enuf...ur car also ended up absorber damage or something similar 2 it.

for the nst-maybank COTY this is how they measure...

'A panel of 9 judges comprising of motoring journalists and other distinguished personalities will be testing over 60 new and substantially facelifted models classified into 13 categories.
New cars launched between November 2009 and October 2010 qualify for COTY.
The evaluation criteria includes styling, value for money, comfort and ergonomics, performance, driving characteristics, safety, emotional appeal and after sales service.
The highest scoring vehicle in each category wins the award for “Best in Class”. The Overall Car of the Year will then be selected from the list of 13 category winners.'

..and all the COTY around the world more less about the same evaluation creteria..

korean car's good for 6 months?
so my forte which already 1 year can buang longkang?

for those who simply said like a child (like kevin) is a real fanboy.
we got previous kia sephia and kia spectra owner who buy forte as their next car also.
if not kia/naza can bungkus long time already.

it's all about luck. flex.gif
