1. Anyone else having battery drain issues with Doc Froyo 7.62 no rfs all ext4 like me?
I noticed the process kswapd0 bites a big chunk of the cpu of and on which never did when I was on stock + voodoo.
Switched to RFS - seems fine now (1day on, still testing).

Kswapd0 is the Linux process handling cache memory of kernels.

2. Anyone with similar drain on tilt sensor ON + gallery? I turned mine off and the sensor process is back to normal.

3. ClockWorkMod lagfix edition rox! (yeah time to brag instead of complain) I can walk to my car while converting FS or trying a new firmware! (Make sure batt is alot though tongue.gif )
Is this "fun" customizing only available to SGS? or you can do the same with other devices like HTC?

Hi All,
Is it normal that maxis will not push the mms to our galaxy S should we disabled the data connection using APNonoff widget and later switch on via the same widget ?
*
in messaging setting, tick auto retrieve.

yes, you should use the same widget, some widget do different method of disabling the apn,

try again, just to make sure. confirm that you press 3 button correctly,

if you still cant get into download/recovery mode, than you have a phone that have 3 button disable, its a normal occurrence for new batch of phone, there is a fix for it at xda website. please fix it before you do any flashing

Do you use the Email client or K-9? I am suspecting the kwaspd0 process of mine kicked in because of the push function from K-9.

Anyway, it seemed fine now with RFS.. odd.

EDIT: Nothing to do with RFS or ext4 lagfix, it is the Kernel tweak by hardcore.

AFAIK, if you disable the 3G APN (be it from Maxis or DiGi), you cant use 3g but still can use WiFi.

haha

my step is

first i flash with XXJM8 with .pit 512,

then flash with JPD with modem and phone, no CSC.........

so now with CSC unknown......

anyway, my phone still fully functioning........
no problem,
*
i did the same thing as you did but after reboot chinese characters started coming out for JPD, was hard to navigate cos they were asking for steps to set up the phone, so i decided to flash to JPA instead, worked fine. by the way, only one .tar file which i placed in PDA for both JPD and JPA which i flash, after flash JPA my *#1234# is :

PDA: I9000XWJPA
PHONE : I9000XXJPP
CSC: I9000XEEJP4

after really testing JPA since this morning, seems like the battery and signal strength compared to my previous JF4 is much improved. but still need some time to test. It feels smoother as well....

The JPD from samfirmware is 1 tarfile with pda, phone, csc components all in, I think. No need to flash it with another CSC unless you're doing troubleshooting/tweaking..
*
ur right, the one tar file contains all

I have been running Doc's Froyo JPO 7.6.2 for a few days now.

A few feedback/ observation:

1) The speed is definitely much better than my previous DXJG4.

2) There is no battery drain as faced by some of you guys. If I leave the phone overnight when I sleep, it will only drain 1% to 2% in the morning.

3) No problems with Gallery sensor issue. I downloaded gallery 3D from market myself.

4) I use Apndroid to toggle on/off 3G...i realise that it takes longer to switch on or off the 3G as compared to my old DXJG4. Is it normal?

5) Internet browsing not as smooth as DXJG4. When I double click a webpage to resize the screen, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Don't know why?

6) Have a bit of problem with Wifi today. I go to my regular Wifi spot but couldn't connect, failed to Obtain IP address......do you guys face this problem? Will it be better if I flash the JPD modem?

Thanks
