bro....how did u flashed to JPD?......as per Doc's instruction, update from recovery......can u guide me?

rename it t update.zip, copy to sdcard then apply it from recovery, i did that to my phone, no problem at all.

correct. When u boot in to the recovery mode (ie the CWM recovery mode). There is an option called apply update.zip, choose that one, then it will be ok. I jz did mine few days ago when i flashed to 7.6.2, i even did this when flashed to JPA 7.5.

As mentioned earlier, if u donwloaded the zip file, when u opened it, it contain 2 folders, META-inf, system (ie the zImage), u got 2 options to exercute it from CWM after copy to ur sdcard:
1) if u do not want to change the name, then u choose 'to install from sdcard'...
2) if u rename it to update.zip, then u just choose the apply update.zip

install from CWM Recovery! Not as update.zip from 2e Recovery!  - mean the stock 2e recovery mode.

this is really strange, i didnt encounter that when i did that last time, infact i still having the update.zip file in my lappy. I did it with the apply update.zip from the CWM (ie the green font)

mine one from DOC's ROM side link and the file name called Swype_JPA.zip

I always stuck on Odin "Do not turn off Target" steps... Tried 2 firmwares still the same.... anyone help?

how u guys fix the music player not chinese characters problem?

You need to have an app name "Amend MP3". It will help your music player to display chinese character.

I forgot the steps as the menu is in Chinese. You need to explore a bit. Installed "Amend MP3" first.

Here is the installer in case you don't find it.
Change the extension of the file to *.apk > transfer to your SGS and install.
But you need to enable "unknown sources" in settings and have apk installer, which you can get from the Market.

i have this problem with the wallpaper it only shows a small part of it after some time, im using the live wallpaper ocean waves, why is it actually.

1. Anyone else having battery drain issues with Doc Froyo 7.62 no rfs all ext4 like me?
I noticed the process kswapd0 bites a big chunk of the cpu of and on which never did when I was on stock + voodoo.
Switched to RFS - seems fine now (1day on, still testing).

Kswapd0 is the Linux process handling cache memory of kernels.

2. Anyone with similar drain on tilt sensor ON + gallery? I turned mine off and the sensor process is back to normal.

3. ClockWorkMod lagfix edition rox! (yeah time to brag instead of complain) I can walk to my car while converting FS or trying a new firmware! (Make sure batt is alot though  )
Is this "fun" customizing only available to SGS? or you can do the same with other devices like HTC?

Do you use the Email client or K-9? I am suspecting the kwaspd0 process of mine kicked in because of the push function from K-9.

Anyway, it seemed fine now with RFS.. odd.
