got my astro upgraded to b.yond on 18/12 and activated on 20/12 after many long and nasty calls to cs.

just 1 quick question for those who can help.

everytime i power up the decoder, it always go back to channel 101.
is it supposed to be like that or is there something wrong with my decoder?

Why is Astro service so unstable?

You guys can change this by setting Fav channel. The first Fav channel you set will be the default channel after the box is rebooted.

That happens if you turn off the power supply for it (at the power point). If it goes to standby mode only, it should return back to the last watched channel.

True but did not answer the question . Refer to my post above to have the box switched to a preferred channel after it is rebooted.

I think it's more to do with favourite channels

correct me if i'm wrong, this means it will not be able to return to the last watch channel like in all the old astro decoders even after powering off and on again unless i only go to standby mode or setup a favorite channel.

May I add. the old decorder wld go to to the nearest channel if u press an unavailiable channel number but this new decorder from heaven is so genious it wld say channel not avaliable !That much for progress so when free all of you pls memorise all channel numbers for your own good !

True. no more last view channel once the box is rebooted (not waking up from standby).

Takes a month because Astro was doing some upgrading, supposedly for 2 weeks but somehow i took a month.

Well, the installer told me he was out of job for a month becoz of the upgrading. Also, i think when the installer is setting up ur decoder, INSIST to get the activation done on the spot or u will not sign the form.

Some had their Astro SD upgraded to HD but after installation even SD also cannot watch. So i guess as a customer pls insist u want the screen viewable after installation. It should not take 1 minute for activation.

I see,what's the upgrading for?Has it been done?

And btw,yea I find it weird that some people,in this thread too,has their Astro B.Yond not activated even though it's installed already,and they can't even watch SD,have to wait for a month or more So no Astro at all for them,only normal TV channels

Been using Astro for years and now thinking of upgrading to B.yond. I was told it's free with 20 meters of free cabling etc. But is there anything else I should know before I do? Free promotion? Free dancing girls?

Another thing. Should I request upgrade on Astro website or should I do so with one of Astro's reseller? If same, I prefer the reseller hoping they can make some money off the upgrade. No point giving all the money to Astro alone.
