Hey guys I'm wondering if I can cancel my current normal Movies and Sports package and get B.Yond instead since B.Yond already got HBO,Star Movies,ESPN,and Supersport HD which is what I mostly watch anyway,I don't watch Max Movies or the other Sports channel like Golf

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Dec 18 2010, 11:53 PM) The HD channels will only available if you are subscribing to the specific package. Damn knew it wouldn't be that simple,I thought I could get the B.Yond channels like HBO HD and cancel the current Movies and Sports package since it's expensive and some of the channels that I watch would be in B.Yond Example: If you want to have HBO HD and Star Movies HD, you need to be a current subscriber of the movies package or else HBO HD and Star Movies HD won't be available. |

QUOTE(dxjb @ Dec 19 2010, 12:08 AM) not that simple..if ur a person who is interested in high quality pictures, then go for Byond, if ur more concerned bout the channels and pricing, it be better to stick with what u got right now Of course I like high quality images |

So many people waiting for B.yond
Btw,will they have to drill a hole to put new wiring or can they use the current normal Astro wiring? |

QUOTE(digitax @ Dec 21 2010, 09:51 AM) I got mine installed last Saturday after putting in an application about a month back. That's good to hear. But applying takes a month? That's very long Installer called me on Thursday to setup appointment and got it installed within 30 minutes on Sat itself. Activation was done on the spot as well. Installer need to called Astro CS to do some verification and get a code to enter. No hassle at all really with my installer. Btw, i'm staying in Cheras Maluri. |

Some of you got activated on the spot, while some of you have to wait a few days or weeks
Why is Astro service so unstable? |

QUOTE(digitax @ Dec 21 2010, 12:10 PM) Takes a month because Astro was doing some upgrading, supposedly for 2 weeks but somehow i took a month. I see, what's the upgrading for?Has it been done?Well, the installer told me he was out of job for a month becoz of the upgrading. Also, i think when the installer is setting up ur decoder, INSIST to get the activation done on the spot or u will not sign the form. Some had their Astro SD upgraded to HD but after installation even SD also cannot watch. So i guess as a customer pls insist u want the screen viewable after installation. It should not take 1 minute for activation. And btw,yea I find it weird that some people,in this thread too,has their Astro B.Yond not activated even though it's installed already, and they can't even watch SD,have to wait for a month or more How do the installers activate it?By keying in some kind of code? |

QUOTE(creative zn @ Dec 21 2010, 04:00 PM) yay. just change to astro beyond today. the fella change everything. cable, satellite, and mine got activated at the same time. less in 30 mins, all been setup nicely. Can enjoy to the max now QUOTE(eMKs @ Dec 21 2010, 04:50 PM) If you want to take out satellite, you need to have something like this Or in more extreme way, like China & US did. But with satellite in Geo orbit like Measat, it will be more difficult at 36k km away |

Hey do u all subscribe to both Movies and Sports package?Thinking of subscribing to B.Yond, but the problem is now my package is Movies,Sports,Variety,Learning and Dynasty, which total is RM121.95,if I subscribe to B.Yond +RM20.00 already
So thinking of cancelling Sports, what do u guys think?Or it's down to my own choice and budget? |

QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Dec 21 2010, 07:11 PM) Astro movies are mainly older movies available elsewhere in even higher 1080 resolution. So why bother? Yea well but I'm not the only one who watches Astro on the TV,and my other family members wants to watch movies too,hey u can't expect me to download every single movie that is on the programme list |

QUOTE(seed80 @ Dec 21 2010, 08:28 PM) up to you lorr.. if u r a big sports fan..then dont cancel.. but if u only tune in to sports now n then i suppose u can cancel it.. but be prepared to miss out on all sporting events.. if u can tahan, juz think of it as an extra meal at a fast food joint for the family a month, and just pay for the current package lorr.. one pizza also RM30 alredi, so juz imagine u buy one pizza for your family every mth.. then enjoy both movie n sports.. Haha hey I rather get a REAL pizza wat say u? I think I will just cancel it,because I only usually watch once a week only, football,my favourite team, other than that not much, other team's matches I don't watch,I don't watch their talk shows like The Monday Night Verdict or SportsCenter Asia either, their BPL News I can go internet like Soccernet and read,if my favourite team's matches I can stream, now also no major sporting events,World Cup 2014 still a long time away |

QUOTE(dannychen @ Dec 21 2010, 09:50 PM) Astro screwed up their system during upgrade, subscribed for b.yond on last week but no installer assigned yet. Auto Debit also got problem, they debited my card but my latest statement was not updated! I'm going to make noise if they terminate my service. QUOTE(ThE-HunTeD @ Dec 21 2010, 10:40 PM) I've been waiting almost 4 weeks for B.yond. Just like Danny said, they screwed up the upgrade. My assigned installer was nice enough to tell me not to install and activate yet because the activation process might fail. How suckish can Astro get? They even screwed up their upgrade..So it's not safe to install yet?But some people here got it installed and activated on the spot Still waiting until today................. |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Dec 22 2010, 02:37 PM) Guys, question here... Why you wanna get the B.Yond decoder although you don't wanna activate HD?No difference right?Or is there? My home already have astro. So now my father is planning to change the decoder to beyond version but don't want to activate HD. How much will he'll be charged for the decoder replacement & is it possible for changing decoder without subscribing to HD(plan to stick with SD)? |

QUOTE(pokemon @ Dec 23 2010, 01:08 PM) Yes, you are right. If you change your billing cycle to yearly and your billing date is from now till 31dec2010, then you can save on the 6% service tax for 12 mths. I've been following what u guys are saying, but I dun get it,how come the 12 months can save 6% service tax if the billing date is from now till 31dec2010 |
