hello

wish to get some info from the masters here,

when comparing 7d and 5dm2,  most of the users will say 5dm2 has weaker AF as the 7d has newer AF technology.

but may i know, if AF of 5dm2 compare with 50d? is the AF (speed and in low light condition) of 5dm2 better than 50d? or just the same.

thanks

I was using a 40D before I upgraded to the 5D2. I prefer the 40D's AF. smile.gif

ah ya, rolleyes.gif has been thinking very long time between Tammy 1750 VC and this 15-85, at last i choose the 15-85 after doing a lot of research biggrin.gif the price bundle with 7D make it less expensive to have biggrin.gif

anyone is using a blackrapid strap here? I have been eyeing for a replacement strap for my current canon strap and the blackrapid and optech strap look very promising. rclxms.gif

blackrapid's attaches the strap to the tripod connector, and another similar strap by optech attaches the strap to the normal strap hook.

this site claims that attaching the strap to the tripod connector is not good for the camera long term. What do you guys think? is the claim true? any experience from sifus here?

Optech's version attaches to only a single strap connector, im afraid that the connector might loosen due to the camera's weight. hmm.gif

any other pro and cons?

black rapid website
optech utility strap website

anyway, a video about the blackrapid's strap nod.gif

All of the 50d focusing points are cross-typed, it should have better accuracy than 5dmk2.
For centre point, both are about the same.
There are some hidden AF assist points around the center point for 5dmk2, but this only can be activated with lens wider than f2.8.

Since i just got a 50mm f1.8.

Just a test shot for it, and probably my nicest shot so far.
pic not edited, taken using 60D + 18-200mm kit lens.

yeap, i'm using a Rode VideoMic... quality is great...
i even used an Audio Technica boom mic with Sennheiser mic wireless system on it during the shooting last week.
The sound was uber good...

just one thing turns me down... unlike my Panasonic HS300... it has no headphone jack... so it's kinda hard for me to monitor the sound...
just depends on the meter.

i hooked it up to a small 6.5" external LCD monitor, even plugged in the audio cable, and i still couldn't hear the sound thru the monitor after i plugged the headphone into it...
but while playback, there was sound comin out from the monitor's speaker... really weird... i just wonder why DSLR just doesnt let ppl to monitor the sound... XD

U better think carefully ah. Not every1 wants an M9 coz it only does 1/4000. I'm a daylight, wide open kinda fella so I prefer the M8 which does 1/8000.  When ur shooting at f1, really need the 1/8000. N u better keep at least the 5D coz u will still need an SLR.
*
Just taroh a ND8 filter for daylight lor.. no need 1/8000 di
