is Kata backpack reliable?

i saw Kata DR-466i and Kata Dr-467i, which can fit laptop as well... and the price is kinda cheap...
i might be getting that... cuz im really a backpack guy... i go everywhere with my backpack, but if a bag specially for camera only, i'm not that interested...
at least these come with laptop compartment...

i might be getting 5MDH as well... cuz it's really a small sling bag... i dun like big sling...

Kata backpacks are very good. I own two myself - they've never let me down. I'd particularly recommend the R-103 but it's quite costly.

I'm not really a backpack kind of person though, so I much prefer my Lowepro Stealth Reporter or Rezo unless I'm going on a long trip.

After 3 months of "struggling". From selection Sony 550-> Sony A55 -> Canon 50D -> Canon 60D -> Canon 550D. I end up getting 50D.... LOL.... with tamron with VC. Seller recommend me the Tonika 11-16mm F2.8 lense, but i end up getting tamron with vc due to out of budget.

At first i have already decided to choose 550D.. But until i reach the shop and test each camera and found out that....

1) 550D is really light..... real real light.... light until I'm unable to accept it as DSLR. LOL.

2) Test on the HD video... In fact I would rather get camcorder for better quality and longer recording.

3) The handling on 50D is really good..... It feels good when I'm holding it. 550D.... you know lah... 60D..... its "OK" to me... but i think 50D has more feel on it.

4) Function of 50D is really awesome... Lots of stuff that i can play with.... and I'm still learning it.

This is my thought during purchasing the dslr. Tonika lense really looks awesome, if comparing tamron f2.8. I found out that tonika has more quality than tamron after comparing both pic taken live in the shop. (My thoughts) But price is like RM800 more expensive. T__T

Conclusion: Join Canon Fans Club gang~~~, finally.... got lots of stuff to learn from guys like you all who has taken so much quality photo. I might post some photo here and need you guys to guide me. XD Or anyone has the photo taking guidance video or ebook?

It's Tokina and not Tonika...

Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 and Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 VC are two different ranges lenses, how can be compared like that?

Tokky is an Ultra Wide Angle lens whereas Tammy is Wide to Mid-zoom lens.

550D is very light? Yeah, because it is not made by magnesium alloy body but when I attach it with my battery grip, Tammy 1750VC and 580EX II, it really carries some weights now.

At least those people that hold my camera said that it is heavy... To me, I'm still OK with it.

ooo... icic.... So both are different range of lenses? I heard from seller that this one Tokky can be used for full frame. Is it correct? Tokky ultra wide angle can be used for portrait photo taking right?

They said that 550D is suitable for girls. I think which is really really really suitable for u. ^^ Maybe you're right, attach the lense might be heavier. But seriously, I dont know why, the handling is so good when i hold the 50D. XD

Yea..agree...whn i try my 500d wif tammy1750 VC...d weight bcom nicer to me...as in more ngam d weight...bet if i attach BG n flash thn shud b ok already... thou dun plan to get BG n flash for d time being.

Yes, can be used for FF if I'm not mistaken but then I think will be prone for vignetting.
UWA for portrait? No la not so suitable unless you wanna cover the background also la, it is for landscape and interior shots or maybe huge group shot.

550D is not so bad one la.
Anyway 50D is not a bad camera too, enjoy yourself and welcome to the world of poisoning.

Hanging on neck really is a pain in a ass... You mentioned about sling on your shoulder, does it apply to the neck band?

Yes, but I'm no longer using Canon stock strap, I bought the Crumpler Industry Disgrace Strap which is far more comfortable:

You will need a battery grip though.

Else you can find Rapid R Strap and it is quite pricey but comfortable.

Btw, anyone here used Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical (IF) MACRO lens before?

I am considering to get one, but havent got a chance to test it.
The reason I am looking at this lens is for the convenient of travelling around without carrying extra lens.
I know the image quality might not be as perfect comparing to those non-all-round-lens.

Or anyone here owns a all-round-lens, mind to share your opinions/experience?

I sling it on my shoulder to...either like d rapidstrap style or normal style...i dun like it around my neck...whn walk also will goyang goyang...

tokina 11-16mm is not a full frame lens IINM.
