They said that 550D is suitable for girls....
Wow, does that means I am gay(no offense on sexuality) as I own a 550D? Haha...
Btw, anyone here used Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical (IF) MACRO lens before?

I am considering to get one, but havent got a chance to test it.
The reason I am looking at this lens is for the convenient of travelling around without carrying extra lens.
I know the image quality might not be as perfect comparing to those non-all-round-lens.

Or anyone here owns a all-round-lens, mind to share your opinions/experience?

most of us here haven't tried the lens u mentioned. so it's a bit hard for us to give theoretical opinion.

Ohh...OK. That's fine then. How about other brand or type?

they saying that cos 550D small. don't care wan.

my photos from this little fella can satisfy some tough judges, so i don't see why anyone should worry about using it.

all rounder lenses are fine, they have advantage on range but lose out on speed and quality, generally speaking but the quality is also generally acceptable, after all it's a travel lens and you're not using them for competition or wanting it in high detail print.
i suggest you don't think so much about bokeh. if you look at the best photos in the world, there's minimal to little bokeh.
True, the main reason of the purpose of me wanted to buy all rounded lens is for easy travel, enjoy and capture memories into images smile.gif, not for competition. I understand that there are advantages and disadvantages of all round lenses, I am not fuss about the image quality like need not to be 100% perfect and also I saw a lot of images taken by all rounded lenese, the quality is there.

I am looking for advise of which all rounded lens is more suitable for my purpose (50% scenery, 35% buildings, 10% people, 5% night shot) and suite my 550D as well.

Maybe some pro here can give their experience on all rounded lenses smile.gif

I tried 18-270 and it's actually quite nice to use it. The only thing is soft when it reaches like 230 and above. But I don't really care though. So if i were you, i will get it for my travel lense, at the same time will carry external flash.

Thanks for the info.
Btw, I saw from other forum mentioned that when zooming the lens (in certain range) it feels a bit hard/stuck, is this true?

Cool, might consider a external flash if budget still allow.

Also, lenses like the 18-270 and the 18-200 weights 3x your current 18-55 IS kitlens.

It's worth looking at a canon 18-135mm/ sigma 18-125mm and use the weight/budget balance to get a 50mm f1.8 for low light situation (add together still cheaper and lighter) especially in places whereby a flash is not ideal.. like in museums, places of worship etc... and a big camera+big flash attached could create too much unwanted attention some less safe place.

Hmm, I might need to go down to a shop and try out those lenses before making a final purchase decision.
I am thinking to avoid lens changing during my trip, therefore I am looking at all rounded lens.
But anyway, I'll take a look at 18-135mm and compare it to 18-270 before purchasing anything.

thanks for the info.
