I wouldn't say Paradox is high end as I am having it now in my house. It is reasonably price but it lacks some nice to have faetures that I would like to have. For example, there is no voice module to inform you when you arm and disarm your system; the GSM module is not stable; the standard configuration does not include Internet accessibility; the door opened chime volume in alarm off mode cannot be adjusted to louder volume, etc etc. Of course mine is the standard configuration and not Magellan.

That said, it is quite reliable as it works as intended and I do not encounter any false alarm so far.

so to compare both DSC Power Series and Paradox, it will be like equally good? in terms of reliability? I am just curious, cause my electrician proposed DSC Power Series for me......

Really big headache now >.<

Hi sifu-sifus,

Has anyone of you installed wireless cctv or surveilance camera? When i mean wireless I mean both data transmiting and also cctv DC power (so it use battery), no data cable or power wiring involved.

Reason being I had my house reno done and didn't add a socket point in front of main door, suddenly thinking of adding a cctv in front of main door (due to the frequent happen break-in case lately). I dont want to re-hack again.

Is anyone of you using such wireless cctv? how is the battery lifespan, i am assuming the lifespan much shorter since it power a big camera compare to a magnetic/shock sensors.

Any good brand to recommend?

That is for you to call in and hear the status as well as connected to your fixed line/Unifi to call you when the alarm is triggered. I am referring to voice response when you on or off your alarm when you are inside the house, when you open a door in a zone, batteries running out, etc

Never see this use before. You maybe the first i know using smile.gif Most important get the low Lux for high sensitivity. Maybe the camera only trigger when it sense movement, this will reduce the battery usage, and increase lifespan. Just like some DVR, it only record when detect movement, will reduce storage.

I installed ADT alarm and CCTV from Eccentrix Tech. Tested alarm few times and it is very prompt from ADT. CCTV has no issue and looking as clear as from home using the handphone. I saw most of the banks using ADT too.

Yeah, me looking for a reliable alarm system too. Between Paradox and Bluguard, which will be the better option in term of cost and reliablity?

Besides, can anyone let me know how to contact Winson?

To me, paradox, adt or bluguard, they all have the same reliability and function. I feel theirs nothing special, because they all use the same sensors and most type of sensors work on either alarm brand. Heck they even work on those cheap china brands. Just remember to get high quality sensors so they don't fail working suddenly in 1-2 years. In the end, all do the same thing.

The only difference will be like adt where you got to pay monthly fee for their monitoring service. Most of the brands stated above have those function like sound module, home automation, gsm.... Just depends on what model you get.

So I just you check out each alarm brand and see what's the special thing they have that interest you.

Just remember its what type of sensor and the quality or brand of sensor you want to watch out.
